but I'm about 20 Min from SF(Novato) will I still be able to get the 4G service?

i rooted it, couldnt figure how to do the rom, ran out of beer, ran out of caring, ran out of food and just googled the stock 1.6 firmware to re-program because i had to downgrade to a 1.5 to get the root to work

Likwid you'll need to keep clockwork on there to partition your sd for apps2sd on 10, just go with 512 ext and 64 swap then clockwork will do the work on reboot, after that flash sp recovery back on and don't forget they're nandroid files not update.zip

You want to ROOT, I would is dmupdater (droidmod)
then flash to ultimate droid. There are great videos on youtube.
