it was definitely fight of the year for the first 6-7 rounds, one of the best first half to a fight ever. but berto did way too much clinching in the later rounds which I think will prevent it from being FOTY. he clinched after every exchange.

his inside game is terrible as well. anyone notice how ortiz would sneak those uppercuts in as berto was clinching?

it looked as if berto knew he would be slept if he didnt clinch during the latter rounds. towartds the end of the fight he was lookin to his corner like he wanted the towel thrown in

i stand corrected. this fight really made me see the chinks in Berto's armor but i do believe he can still have some success. He DEFINITELY needs a new trainer/camp because his yes men clearly aren't doing the job. Good job to Ortiz!

Yea his camp was whack........they offered no real strategy to him between rounds.

What did you guys think of the Khan fight? He was beating that dude pretty bad, but I don't think they should have stopped it because of that little cut.

Berto needs to hire Steward.... He needs to work on his defense (leaves himself open to counters waaaay too much), Pacquiao probably would have knocked him out.

Ortiz didn't respect Berto's punching power and Ortiz looked to be the stronger fighter. I don't think Berto ever recovered from the punishment he took in the first round.

He (Berto) did land the best punch of the fight though, I don't know how Ortiz got up from that right hand that dropped him in the 6th. Whew, great fight though.

What about Ortiz corner tellng him we got this fight won, with 4 rounds still left. NOT A GGOD IDEA!

Actually that's not what they were saying. I noticed, most time the truth get's lost in translation. His corner was speaking spanish and the translater on gives you the very short version.......

They were telling him that he is winning the fight. Not that he won the fight.

the khan fight was whack. the irish dude was pretty awkward, and I suppose that made it less entertaining because Khan, while landing lots of shots wasn't landing all that cleanly and looked a bit sloppy in doing so. it was very forgettable. the stoppage was terrible as well the cut was above mcclowsky's eyebrow no big deal.

bring on timothy bradley.

I still don't know how Berto finished that fight. He showed a lot of heart and a good chin. He gave too many rounds away by laying on the ropes and letting Victor beat on him.
All credit goes to Ortiz that man was fighting like he was willing to die to win the fight. He got dropped by a bomb in the 6th rounds and got back up fighting like a wild man. That was a good fight and i would love to see a rematch.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch but Berto's got some work to do though. He showed heart but why was he laying on the ropes urging Ortiz to come on..... didn't Berto know that's how Muhammed Ali got himself messed up?

Both fighters showed great heart though. If I didn't know what happened, I would've thought Ortiz was out after that big right hand in the 6th. I still don't know how he made it to his feet, that was a bomb he took.

hey it worked for pacquiao why not give it a try, besides he did say after the fight he's cool with manny and roach. you know they got him on the juice.
I dont want to even think that is a possibility but why did Ortiz have to say "I got a call from Pac before the fight". FUCK!

FuckiN Ironlungs you just fucked up my day, Fucker!

ortiz was huge for 140 and he rehydrated crazy amounts after fight, this is him training before the peterson fight he's been big

like emmanuel steward said, he probably should have been fighting at WW this whole time and cutting all that weight may have not been so healthy for him.
