the people need to govern themselves because with or without laws, in the end it comes down to the people whether they govern themselves by following the laws or not.

those who are following the laws are the ones who get the credit for what they do , not the law.

in the end its the people who govern themselves, with or without laws.
those who become junkies when drugs are legal is completely their fault.
laws dont dictate what will or wont be done.
it comes down to the individual.

edit: to sum it up i meant that by following the law, the individual is governing his actions already.
change of laws wont make a difference

and don't forget christians... i got cousins who are christians 'cause their parents were converted in fiji(they do a lot of that over there).. and some catholic family.. yeah indian catholics.. i don't participate in it(hindu religion).. but i did growin' up.. probably how most parents raise their children who believe in somethin'. i don't need a religion to believe in god.

How do you interact with your folks? Is it awkward to be around them knowing you don't believe the way they do, or do they respect your beliefs and go on about their business? Do they try to "convert" you, or do they limit the discussion?

we don't really talk about religion anymore.. more important stuff... like life... they know who i am.. they could care less who i pray to.. as long as i'm a good person... don't know how christian parents deal with that... but from my experiences.. hindus don't push their religion onto others.

what do you think i believe in anyway.. i'd say the same thing as hindus and christians.. minus the nit-pickin'.
