i'll listen to almost anything, any one thing can get boring after a while. good music knows no boundaries, theres something for whatever you're feeling at the moment.

That is some real talk. I like alot of different genres of music. I can say so far that I haven't heard a Country or Techno,Trance,Dance, etc (I swear there is like 100000 different kinds of names for the stuff they play at raves) song that I have liked. Johnny Cash is great but IMO he is more Folk music and his really Country music I didn't care for.

Diggler I see that you got The Smiths listed. I don't think there are too many on here who like them. Morrissey is a great song writer and singer. I like all of The Smiths/Morrissey albums. Do you got the new Morrissey album "You Are the Quarry" it is a really good album IMO.

you seen the video for The Widow NuttKase? Its actually getting a lot of play

Yes I have, it is a really great song and video. What did you think of it B-Buzz? I already got a bootleg of "Frances the Mute" but have only been listening to it every now and again. I don't want to play it out before it gets released lol. Also there is also going to be a single for the title track of the album "Frances the Mute" which is not on the album. I know it is weird that the title track is not on the album but is released as a single, but that is The Mars Volta for you. It is one track with three movements and is like 15 minutes long. It is also called the "decoder" and has stuff you can play on the computer that tells you more about the album. It was supposed to come out last Tuesday but never did. I heard it is now coming out the same day as the album (March 1st)

Ive only seen the whole thing once, I always end up catching the end. But its really good.

Thats fucking weird, the shit about the single, it better not be hella expensive lol.

A guy on Q101 Chicago said that he herd the album and it has a lot of blues influence to it. I can see that with The Widow.

Yeah the album is great. I can't say yet that it is better than De-loused... because I have only listend to it all the way through like around 4 times. There is quite abit more spanish lyrics to this album though. Not a whole bunch but I would say atleast 5-10% of the album is in spanish (this is off of listening to it 3-4 times though) but even if you don't know spanish it still sounds sick. The album does have a very different feel then De-loused... now that you (or the guy on Q101 lol) says it I can hear the more bluesish feel to it. Either way it is a great album and I don't think the "Frances the Mute" single/title track will be expensive. Have you heard the story behind the album yet B-Buzz? It is a really good story just as was De-loused...

naw I havent herd either of the stories for the albums. And this is gonna fuck with me even more now that Im trying to piece together the Co&Ca story lol

Well Deloused In the Comatorium is based on a true story. Their friend (the members of Mars Volta) was a artist (paintings) who was addicted to morphine. After OD'ing on the drug and going into a 3-4 month coma he came through to only end up commiting suicide. The album is about going into a coma and all the weird shit that happens in his head while in a coma and to awake and have the choice to live or die and end up choosing to die. It is a really trippy story and you have to really listen to Cedrics lyrics to get the whole story. But it is weird because I know people who have only heard the album once or twice and say they felt it was about life and death.

Frances the Mute is about a diary that Jeremy Ward (R.I.P) of the Mars Volta found in the back of a car when he was a repo-man. All though they didn't know how much of the diary was fact or fiction they based Frances the Mute around it. Shit is crazy though when you listen to the album. I really can't wait to hear the single/title track/decoder....

I might have rambled alot because I am pretty fucked up....damn beer and soma's LMFAO..but IMO Mars Volta are one of the best bands out these days.

That is cool B-Buzz I highly recommened De-loused... and Frances.. I will tell you in advance though that it might take a listen or two to really get the feel for De-loused (but than again I was used to Cedric/Omar in At the Drive In so I was kind of biased) But IMO The Mars Volta blows anything that ATDI released out of the water. See this is why like Contagious Locc said we need a general music forum LMFAO.

By the way I am glad you liked that Mad Season cd....that shit is classic.
