LOL all of a sudden all this is just an opinion? doesnt look like it.
you are sick and twisted............if you dont see how that is AN OPINION........everything anyone says is AN OPINION......

oh and IP does have to do with BAA, more innings pitched = greater chance of a batter raising that BA.. with more opportunities theres usually more reward.
NO IT DOESNT........................BAA is a RATIO..........H/AB.....if a pitcher allowed batters to hit him at a clip of 4/20 his BAA is .200.............if he allowed 40/200 his BAA is .200..........if he allows 80/400 it is still .200

how are we supposed to know that? i mean you claim to have all this knowledge of the game, a coach, you know scouts.. and not everything anyone says is an opinion especially when stats back it up its fact.

no shit.. and what im saying is if you pitch more innings that ratio could rise,

kinda like a poker game.. you can keep going or cash out.. if you keep going you might win more money OR you can lose it all.. catch my drift?

i dont think you're understanding what im saying.. and frankly i couldnt put it any simpler.
i read exactly what you wrote....and it doesnt make sense..its cant be put any simple because it doesnt make sense

kinda hard to give someone run support when he puts people on base for free and makes it easier for the other team to pick those runners up
what is that supposed to mean???????????it doesnt make sense per the discussion in this thread

It makes complete sense.. you put people on base, other batters can pick those runners up.. giving that team more runs on board, possibly the lead, etc.. the run support your team gave you is diminished if any was supplied.. make sense now?

so if kershaw walks 3 straight batters, next batter picks those runners up.. score is now 3-2.. that run support is running thin.. now only lead by 1 run. In other words.. you walk those batters, chances are they'll come in to score on hits, wild pitches etc. so your run support couldn be insufficient by the end of the game due to the runners youre putting up on base for free.

or it can hold or it can go down.................

thats exactly what i wanted to hear.................maybe next month Linc puts up 5 ZERO's...........and i will be the first one up here saying he is, IMO, the best pitcher over that month....................it just so happened that IMO this month it was Kershaw.............and the stats back it....with Haren being a very close 2nd..........

in fact on the year Kershaw has a better BAA than Linc.....doesn that mean i am saying that he is better this year...NO...........on the season Linc has been the better pitcher.............what that means though is that Kershaw has been harder to hit all year......................

there are still 15 or so more starts on the saeason per starting pitcher......maybe it will change and Linc will pass up Kershaw by years end.....and like your little poker analogy maybe he wont......

It is harder to get a hit off of Kershaw than it is off of Lincecum thus far this year.....................

haren was better dummy. 5-6 inning outings are wack. 9 out of 10 harens starts went 7+ innings. it is tougher to be dominant for more at bat vs the same lineup, the more times they see you, the more adjustments they can make.

it makes no sense because that was your response to a discussion over BAA.........how does this affect BAA again???????? thats right, it does'NT......

we were never talking about run suport................until you guys starting referencing it as being related to BAA................which it isnt..............

but if you want to talk about run support...............

here are some games where he got NO run support......

I give a fuck what folks say I still dont think DeRosa or Halladay or any of the other traded names would have helped SF you gotta remember you're playing 81 games a year in ATT park unless your name is Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder or Albert Pujols you aren't hitting more than 25 HR at ATT the idea of getting a "power" bat at this point is trivial.

Yeah, we know how well the Giants play at home. If the Giants got another solid bat in the lineup it would help both home and away.
