After looking at this, it's just an amazing jump on the ball by the Pats. Hats off to them, hell of a play. The key to this play is
Browner, you see him
jamming Kearse. If he doesn't jam and Kearse gets free, Lockett makes that catch 100% of the time, TD game over. It was a great great defensive play.
But they should have never called that play. The amount of times the Seahawks have ran a slant with Lockett from goal line this year - zero (until yesterday of course). If they are going to pass there, that play makes no sense whatsoever. You go with your bread and butter - let Wilson roll out and have the option to try and run it in, hit a WR/TE on an out, or throw it away. Not a quick slant across the middle in front of traffic with a guy you seldom use. It's not that crazy they passed there even though the obvious thing to do is handoff to lynch, it's the play they called that's really crazy.
