the ball should not have been thrown AT ALL!!
they had it first and goal after the CATCH OF THE YEAR!!!!----ok first goal, lynch runs to the left and gets to the 1 yard line!!! the 1!! he's had over 100 yards and a td up to this point. even if he runs it just ONE more time, odds are he's going to get you that yard!!! for the super bowl?-you take that one chance! that one down!!

I don't think anyone's debating it shouldn't have been a run, we all agree we wanted Lynch.
The logic of passing on that down isn't completely crazy though because the Seahawks still had their receivers set in and the Pats already sent in their goal line guys, so their thinking was ok we got a mismatch here let's take advantage of it. So it's not insane logic. The insane part is the play they called. If you're going to pass, do something safe, like I mentioned before roll Russell out and give him the option to find a guy in the back of the endzone near the sideline, run or just throw it away. Not a quick underneath slant into traffic, that's just ridiculous. Even if Butler doesn't make that play the pass has to be a bullet, it could bounce of Lockettes hands and go up in the air, a lineman could get his hand up and tip it, etc. Just too many bad things can happen with a play like that.

I'm not mad. Carroll is the one that completely rebuilt this team and brought the hawks to back to back superbowls.
