Only if he wants to move up in weight.
So why should he fight GGG? Do you see GGG talking about moving up in weight? No you see him talking about unifying the titles and clearing out the division.

This guy calls out a guy smaller than he is, who isn't even thinking about him, but when two other fighters called him out after BHOP went on record saying he wouldn't fight Ward because they are friends, you say only if he wants to move up in weight?

Ward hasnt earned the right to fight GGG??? Hahahahahhhaha stop it kid thats to funny. Ward is the number 2 p4p fighter in the world. GGG actully hasnt earned a right to fight Ward with all the bums that he has beaten. I still wanna see the fight though. Ward has earned the right to fight anyone actually. Hes number 2 p4p and that says it all. Got Em!!

Well, I think GGG will move up in weight after he KO's 160 so it's a logical fight if Ward is still there.

I'm well aware of Ward's hypocrisy calling out guys smaller than him but unwilling to fight Kovalev or Stevenson. At the end of the day I'll never criticize a guy for fighting in the weight class he's most comfortable in. Not everyone is Pacquiao and Mayweather and can win belts in multiple weight classes. The man in my avatar never moved up. But yeah I agree Ward should shut up about it and just fight. I'm a fan of Ward in the ring not a fan of the person tbh.

No, Ward hasn't earned the right and should have been taken off every p4p list for inactivity. Why is he so high when, according to many of you here he fought a drained Dawson and only has what one or two fights after that? And then you talk about GGG fighting bums but the man has not ducked anyone in his division, has the highest ko percentage, is a bigger draw than Ward is right now and is being ducked.

So an inactive fighter, who will need at least two fights to shake the ring rust should fight a guy who is smaller than he is while avoiding two guys who called him out over ten times each...two guys in the division HE won his gold medals in...sure, kid.

GGG in the P4P, Ward has no business being there.

How is he not comfortable when he won a gold medal as a light heavy?

I never said he fought a drained Dawson. Dawson was the one tht said he would go down and thought he was gonna beat him so thats his fault. What Ward did in the Super 6 is ten times better than all of GGG's pro fights combined lol. Stop trolling nigga. Got Em!!

Look at all the posts here and you will see people saying it. If you weren't one of the ones it doesn't change anything. He has been inactive. GGG has fought ranked guy after ranked guy. Yes, Ward had a good performance 4-6 years ago in the super six. Great, what is he doing now? What has he done in the last year to keep him on the p4p at the two spot? Nothing.

And czar, if GGG has been fighting bums, and you believe he is a bum (admit it, breh), then why would you want to see Ward fight him? Would you want to see him fight someone more credible if that's the case?

Timothy Bradley fought at junior middleweight as an amateur that doesn't mean he should be comfortable as a pro. They have same day weigh ins as amateurs so the weights are different then professional. My point is I don't believe any fighter is forced to fight above or below the weight class they are campaigning at if they don't want to.

I think Stevenson is a good fight for Ward since he's not a huge light heavyweight like Kovalev who struggles to make 175 and you saw how big he looked against Bhop. I believe Kovalev said he's gonna go to cruiserweight after he hopefully fights Stevenson. But I'd love to see Ward against both those guys, he's just not OBLIGATED to do so. Just like I said Mayweather had no obligation to move up and fight Sergio Martinez a couple years back, I always thought that was an absurd demand.

Did Timmy win a gold medal at jr MW?

The weight for Olympic light heavyweights is up to 175 or 178, I forgot which one. Ward WON a GOLD MEDAL in this weight class. How is he not comfortable fighting there?

Yet it was ok for BHOP to fight a smaller Tito even though BHOP...nah forget it. We will go over the same thing we have.

Bottom line is this, Ward has been inactive for a year, his stock is dropping, GGG has been active, plans to fight 4 times this year and his stock is rising. Ward has been called out by the two champs in the lhw division, a division he won medals in, and now it's "oh he is too small for this guy" and "only if he wants to." But at least you see Ward is being a hypocrite so it's all good.

Same day weigh ins, it's a lot different than the pro's 24 hour prior weigh in. Everyone cuts weight, etc. Guys at 175 don't actually weigh 175, they walk around 185-200.

My point is less about if he's physically comfortable there or not. I'm saying there is no obligation for him or anyone else for that matter to have to move up.

Both were willing. Trinidad moved up to 160 to fight Joppy on his own free will, his own desire to become a middleweight champion. It was not an obligation.

No that's not what I'm saying. I never said Ward is too small for anyone at 175. I actually think he SHOULD move to 175 and physically I think he would be just fine at that weight, hell maybe he would eventually have more power. My point is if he doesn't want to move up, there is no obligation to. If he feels 168 is best for him and that's where he wants to stay, he absolutely 100% has that right. No one should be forced to move up or down in weight. If a guy is comfortable where he's at, cool. But at the same time, knowing all that, Ward should shut his mouth about other fighters not wanting to move up since he won't do it himself (stop spitting out hypocrisy).

See people been saying how hes wasting his prime but if there was a time to sit out and fix the bs that he thought was going on the time period he did it in was the perfect time. Sure he could of whooped Froch again but not worth it to fight him in the UK. Not really anyone else for him to fight at 168 and i dont believe he should move up yet, hes not that big.

The problem with this is twofold. Tim didn't win a gold medal at the weight you mentioned. He won a gold medal at 147 which is one of the weights he fights at. Ward, however, won an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL at light heavyweight and didn't have problems making weight before the trials, during the trials and in the Olympics.

My point is less about if he's physically comfortable there or not. I'm saying there is no obligation for him or anyone else for that matter to have to move up.
Again, so if it is less about the physical why did you just tell me about cutting weight? Ward won a gold medal at LHW. This means he is capable of fighting at that weight so what is the problem? Why is he not comfortable?

Both were willing. Trinidad moved up to 160 to fight Joppy on his own free will, his own desire to become a middleweight champion. It was not an obligation.
We already went over this. He wasn't a true MW.

Kovalev's trainer called Ward out last year. He said Ward should fight at LHW and said he is fighting smaller fighters. The truth is, Ward will most likely be knocked out by the top guys at LHW with the exception of BHOP. So yeah, he has the right to not fight in a weight class he had no problem making weight in, a weight class he won an Olympic gold medal in, but don't call out a guy who has never fought in your division and then say he's ducking you.

No one should be forced to move up or down in weight. If a guy is comfortable where he's at, cool. But at the same time, knowing all that, Ward should shut his mouth about other fighters not wanting to move up since he won't do it himself (stop spitting out hypocrisy).
Here we go again. How is he not comfortable? Has he made any statements about not being able to fight LHW? But everything else I agree on. On one hand, you have people like CZAR @CZAR basically saying "no comment" when it comes to GGG fighting Floyd if he were to take the belt from Cotto, but then say GGG should fight Ward.

I'm sorry comrade I don't really even understand why we're having this discussion. Ward says he's comfortable at 168. I'm not Ward, you are not Ward, neither of us know what his ideal fighting weight is.

At the end of the day, my argument is correct because a sanctioning body cannot force a man to move up in weight. That's all there is to it. Now we both agree Ward probably would be just fine at 175. We both agree he's a hypocrite for some of the things he said. But again, there is literally no obligation to move up if he doesn't want to. He can retire at 168 if he wants and probably go down as the greatest Super middleweight of all time (since the history of the division is only 30 years or so).

And this goes to all fighters. I do find it comical though CZAR was always saying ggg needs to move up in weight but was so adamant that Floyd shouldn't fight Canelo because he was too big (and Sergio as well). Same hypocrisy Ward said. But I've consistently defended all fighters from having to move up, I always told people to Stfu when they would say Mayweather needs to fight Martinez or whatever middleweight, it's an absurd thing to demand (unless they are huge for the division already and cutting tons of weight just to make weight).

Smart move on his behalf.
You don't know that yet. This deal is $8 million a year. He's never made close to $8m in a year. It's difficult for me to say guaranteed long term money like that is smart to turn down. We already know Broner isn't as great as advertised. He will take more L's. And if that's true his stock will go down.

There is a chance he can make more than $40m in five years, he would need to get on a roll and have some PPV fights. I'll bookmark this page and bump it in 5 years.

But you talked about being comfortable. if the guy can win a gold medal at LHW he is comfortable there. Proof is in the pudding. Why doesn't he do it is another question.

I'm not arguing that, though. Of course no one can make him move up. He has no obligation to, but on the real, what does more for his legacy? If he were to fight Kovalev, Stevenson or GGG tommorow, the win over the LHW would look better.

And this goes to all fighters. I do find it comical though CZAR was always saying ggg needs to move up in weight but was so adamant that Floyd shouldn't fight Canelo because he was too big (and Sergio as well). GGG needs to stay exactly where he is. And Floyd had every tool needed to beat Canelo and can beat him again if they fought. For Sergio, I could see that fight being made because was Sergio was willing to drop down to 150 and 154 to make that happen. But for GGG to fight Ward? Nah. But I tell you what, if they fight, GGG will knock him out.

This man just told jay z to suck his dick and said Rihanna was only good for pussy. He can turn that into $40m, lol. Broner needs better opposition and convincing wins over those quality opponents. The man lost to Maidana and he's still alive and being talked about.

Nah man, he is young he will make his money. Smart move.
