It dosent really matter how yall refer to us...but when u hesitate it makes it seem worse.
Like if u tell a black person a story starting with "therr were some black dudes up the street and..." ...thats fine, just say that.
But if u have to fumble around with how to word it, like "there were some...uhh...you know... Some young african americans"... Or u start pointing to the black dudes arm insinuating the people were of the same skin color... Thats what not to do.
