I'm able to work but the these corporate richfucks would rather outsource jobs to China, India, etc.. and the corporate richfucks that are here in the US will only hire parttime with minimum wage at $7.25. parttime is not enough to live off of in Austin. Minimum wage has $7.25 in Texas since 1990. It sucks here.
Don't you live with your parents? lol isn't any wage you make "enough to live off of"?

How could one live in Seattle making 250k gross not take home.
I mean, you'd be living perfectly well, but you're not gonna be in a highrise downtwn unless its tiny, or a house on the water, no matter what size. But you can have a perfectly nice lifestyle in Seattle. Manhatten or SF propper, maybe not.

Uhh no. I know what I'm talking about. I lived in Austin all my life.
Forbes has Austin's cost of living only 10% above national average.

If you can't live large off of 150k in a place slightly above national average cost of living you're fucking up.

I think Forbes is smarter than you and knows more.

150K is not living large. At least in Austin and Denton.
You can live nice in the greater San Antonio - Austin area on 150k.

Take home of 150k is about 8,629.42 a month, maybe more in Texas because there is no state tax.

This house (on almost 1/2 a acre) is 325k in Austin, payments roughly: $1400 a month... you saying you can't live decent off 8600-1400 = $7200 is the rest of your pay check, you saying you can't live off that a month, and live nice and comfy?

Trying doing that anywhere desirable in the Bay Area, LA or Seattle.
