And this is why this superbowl is basically denver fans / manning fans / ppl that respect old school humble football / racist white america vs the seahawks. Seahawks are a new school team and ppl dont like the change. They want these "loud mouth uppity swaggering negros" to get put in their place. Funny you say that, because its most 49er fans that the rest of the NFL fanbases don't like. Most 9er fans be on some other shit... Pride is one thing alot of yaw take it to another level tho... Cowboy and Raider fans are even less annoying... No disrespect to 9er fans in general, not all of yaw is the problem.

edit: alot of 9er and Oregon college football fans fall in this category... the matrix has been a quiet place since losing has shut these fanbases up for now...

As far as Sherman goes , yea i think hes an asshole, but when youre the best at what you do youve earned the right to talk smack, only way to shut a guy like Sherman up is to beat him, which is what i hope the Broncos will do.

People pick and choose who they want to represent Seattle. Sherman and Tate are the only two guys that really talk shit off the field. Russell Wilson is Mr. PERFECT Bible study good boy. Lynch doesn't talk to anyone at all. Pete Carrol super positive never anything negative to say. Baldwin is super calm and respectful. People just want to focus on Sherman because he's the "bad guy" for speaking his mind. They ignore all the charity work he does, how hard he works, his comradery with his teammates, etc.

See, this is part of the problem. Why does he have to be an asshole? All he did was speak his mind. You can't fault the man for speaking his mind about a situation where he feels he was slighted. Sports isn't all about physical play but mental and psychological as well. You have to do and say things to get the advantage, pull out the win and/or have all eyes on you and now all eyes are on him. He is the type of athlete that thrives on that and it's not because he is an attention whore it is because it helps him prove something to himself which in turn proves something to you.

You think Jack Tatum or Ted Hendricks didn't speak their mind? Do you think we would have a Mayweather, Ali or Tyson if they didn't speak their minds? You think Billy Martin was an asshole for kicking up dust on every ump in MLB? You think Shaq was an asshole for cussing on live tv about Stern and cussing even more when he was reminded of it? You think John Mcenroe ever gave a fuck in his life?

I know all of this is falling on deaf ears but come on man. This is FOOTBALL. Football is a dangerous sport and at any given second you can get leveled and never come back PERIOD. So all this shit about class and all of that, save it because it is part of the game, culture and entertainment. Personally, I don't like seeing sycophants, I like iconoclasts and people who are outspoken when they need to be and that is what separated him from others, he is outspoken when he needs to be.

Ali used to say he was the greatest every chance he got and he said things about his opponents that were seriously fucked up (uncle Tom to Foreman, Gorilla nigger etc to Joe Frazier) and he's a hero for life. As a society that's where we are. The media made this front page news, its moved to late night TV shows, bloggers and youtube wanna bes, people on the street trying to be funny over it, probably guys on FOX news talking about how its the fall of America. Is it really that serious? It's not. It some dude who was hyped up who said a bunch of shit and thats it. I wonder if they interviewed him 30 minutes later what type of Sherman they would have gotten.

I think when its all said and done I'll hate Sherman but not because of this, because he is a player on the team that is my team's rival. But only semi-serious football fans will remember him that way. Everyone else will remember him for one thing that he did for 60 seconds.

It's unfortunate. I understand talking shit in the heat of the moment but the only thing I didn't like about it was he took attention away from his teammates.

when i watched it..it was just a disgusting show of bad sportsmanship...he made the whole game really about him and how he's the best ever...which he is not...you have beef with crabtree, fine..but act like a professional..there are kids that watch football that aspire to be on that NFL level..yet coming up in the game they preach sportsmanship and conduct..it was just disgusting to watch this guy making it all about him and his beef..and i would have the same reaction if crabtree or any other player pulled that shit..it was classless and just to me but many people watching apparently felt the same
