they're still in oakland, i think he talking about when they moved to los angeles in 1982.

they started off in oakland in 1960, moved to los angeles in 1982, and moved back to oakland in 1994.

Yup, I STARTED being a raiders fan when I was a little kid and watched football with my pops while he was living in Golita, I was born in '78 so the raiders were the home team by the time I actually 'watched' games. Then my dad moved to oakland in 1992 or 3 and the raiders soon followed so they continued being his home team. Even though I was living in SD, football was something I enjoyed with pops, so I continued to love the raiders and always will. I've been living in seattle for most of my adult life, so I also am a seahawks fan, and I rarely get to see raiders games, so the 'hawks are kinda my default 'team' these days, but I'll always have a sentimental love of the raiders.

I got kicked out of college in portland in '99 and decided it would be a good idea to live in my girlfriends dorm room after that. Needless to say that relationship crashed and burned, and so I came up here because I had no where else to go, and I could stay in an apartment my moms company had when no one else was there, about 50% of the time. So my first few months up here were split between this increadably nice apartment and a couple dope fiend motels ( Nuttkase @Nuttkase works pretty close to them, the st. regis and the moore--it was a wierd back and forth). Didn't start up school until I was able to make enough money to actually find my own place.

actually, now that I think about it, I think my mom spotted me the money for my first quarter while I was still living at the Moore. But no, I moved up here cuz I was desperate not because I had anything going on.

yea I have so much technical reading, I have no time to read stuff I want.

So lately on commute, I rotate podcast with audiobooks, or just play the audiobook while I compile notes.



I loaded a few books I want to get through this month, a few of Kings novels... and the hobbit (debating whether to waste time on that).
