I honestly don't want Martz; I'd take him as an OC, though. LOL
Im pretty sure if he came to the Raiders he wouldn't be more than a coordinator. I remember a few years ago during a press conference Al was asked if had considered bringing in Martz as a coach and his response was "no, not as a head coach".

This is cut and pasted:

No offense to Lane, but his tremendous lack of head coaching experience caused him to finish among the also-rans for the Gophers head coaching job, for gosh sakes.

Yeah, yeah, Davis probably hasn't given Kiffin enough good players to win with. But Kiffin has done little to direct or motivate the ones who are there. If you disagree, watch the Denver game again.

Calling those last two timeouts in Buffalo might not have changed the outcome of the game for the Raiders. But calling them would have at least avoided getting beat on a walk-off field goal.

The Bills had first-and-10 at the Raiders 39-yard line at the two-minute warning. They had second-and-3 at the Oakland 32 with 1:17 left.

Tick, tick, tick ...

The Bills had first-and-10 at the Oakland 24 with 1:11 left.

Tick, tick, tick. Um, Lane? Hello. You know Lindell is going to make it. At least give yourself some time to answer with a field goal of your own.

Nope. Forty-three seconds later, the Bills ran their last play from scrimmage. And 25 seconds after that, Lindell kicked the game-winner. Ironically, Kiffin tried to call a timeout to ice Lindell at the last second, but was too late.

Kiffin walked off the field and told reporters he "wasn't even thinking" about whether he'd be fired. He's lucky he and those last two timeouts weren't fired on the spot.

Fire him??? why the fuck do you think he is the only one who wanted the job?? The head coach for the raiders is only a title..they really don't do shit.....Al runs things top to bottom..moves can't be made withoit his approval....you can hate Kiffin all you want right now..but what about callahan, shell, etc........The only coach worth a damn in recent memory was chuck..and al let hm go because he wanted more control. There is a reason coaches were decling offers to apply for the job.

I still stand by this

How many coaches you think would have left two timeouts on the board?

boohoo...the raiders need to stop playing the blame game and just play good football....pointing fingers isnt going to help them win ball games.....
Kiffin blamed everyone in the locker room. He should have blamed himself for only calling 3 passing plays in the 2nd half.

Tony crticized VY up and down for his completion % saying "they" cant win with a qb throwing that bad......

now hes saying make a guy that is holding onto the ball too long AND completeing about the same percent of passes should get more reps.....NAH

well 8 completions for under 75 yards (when you take out the 1 big play) isn't exactly lighting up the passing yardage now is it?
Who said it was but only throwing the ball 3 times in one half tells me how much confidence Lane has in our passing game and our receivers. He's gotta call more passing plays even Russell said deep down inside he wants to pass the ball more.

I got on Vince Young for his INT to TD ratio....

Check Russell's TD to INT ratio and then get back at me!

Once he is fired it will be of good riddance... Once Lame Kiffin is fired the Raiders will start winning games because the offense will finally open up. Lame is too conservative and doesn't know how to manage games.

right and he has no confidence because he only com, pleted 8 passes for under 75 yards.....come on Tony you have to see the relavance and of course JR is going to say that, but if he executed better there would be more play calls happening.

Just calling it like I see it... The Raiders paid Javon Walker big money to be a big part of the offense. He got off to a good start in the Buffalo game but somehow they went away from calling plays for him/his number. So we can't blame Javon, he can only come through when his number is called. He has the right to complain if he does. I wouldn't blame him one bit.

Who cares if he only completed 8 passes for under 75 yards, that doesn't mean you have to stop throwing the ball. Curry let one get away from him again. As a head coach you still have to show "confidence" in the passing game. JR is executing just fine as evidenced by that 84 yard TD pass. Could he improve? Yes he can but Kiffin needs to call a few more passing plays to JR can establish some kind of "rhthym".

Yes Al blew it by letting Gruden go... but Gruden is a confident coach who's not scared/predictable/conservative like Kiffin is.
