Some of yall are reading into this stuff WAY TOO MUCH. Unless he comes out and says it, dont believe it. Maybe in the 90's where alot of dudes were kinda subliminal of the blood stuff, I understand.
But what does it matter anyway? Who cares if someone claims blood or crip? The music is what should matter. Its alright to represent your side.
As for Messy joining a blood gang later in life... well again, maybe growing up in a set is different, but doing dirt and goin to jail doesnt happens at any age if you out there. I dont know if you've ever been locked up but if you making music and talking tough... mothafukaz in prison are gonna test you. I dont know if its jealousy or they feel you are telling their story or what, but katz are always testing others... especially if you are publicly(music) talking about it.
So if Bloods put him on in prison he would get a pass... And that's more real than anything. Katz doing life put you on. Katz that put in work put you on. And most doing long bids or life are considered "OGs", so they would spread word to their sets (I'm guessing).
So if someone goes to the same prison and asks some of the katz doing time about Messy and they Vouch for him, does that still make Messy fake? I'd think its more real than many others out there to be put on in prison. (IMO) He dont need to prove he joined a specific set. He knows and the prison bloods know where he stand.

I grew up with Bloods and was one myself. As a teen, I did a few stints in juvy, then finally got sent up to juvenile prison, then work camp for a couple felonies.
Kourse, I'm above all that now. But when I was locked up, Bay music was all I had. And now that I finally come back to hip hop, especially bay music, katz tripping over this stuff.
Like I say, what does it matter, especially if you dont claim. A grown man's choice should be no concern to us, unless its something that is so horrible, that there is no excuse to differenciate between personal life and entertainment (Sicx and his rape stuff).

You could go to South Oakland and there's Crips through there. I've been in Oakland & have seen car loads of Crips, rags on the head & neck, like some shit you would see in LA. I've seen this on different occasions & I didn't even know them so it wasn't through association, they was just dipping through. Bloods & Crips might not be as prevalent in the Bay, but some of you Bay cats be killing me, this gang shit has swept across the ENTIRE nation and you guys insist that "we don't do that out here" and "it doesn't go down in the Bay".
