i just picked up a sanyo 46" tv http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9106634

i got it yesterday and hooked it up right now, and im not impressed with it on the gaming visuals (my old sharp x flat looks better, its hooked up with component cables). besides the fact the picture quality isnt all that great, the fuckin tv screen came cracked on the bottom. so ima take it back and get a different tv. any suggestions? im looking for at least a 42"tv

They are usually a bit more than the cheaper brands, but Sony seems to have some really good models. I've got an older 27 inch Flat Screen Sanyo, and it never impressed me all that much for video games so it must be the tv to avoid for gamers.

samsung, sony, sharp, LG, panasonic.. are topnotch try and stay away from shit like vizio, westinghouse, magnavox, sima.. etc.. and other kinda unknown brands. Also.. component = RGB (red green blue) thats the highest quality of an ANALOG signal.. id just get an hdmi and call it a day.. unless you dont have hdmi on it.

i still got the component cables hooked up for the 360. i ordered 2 HDMI cables last night for like $20, one is for my 360 the other is for my HD cable box.

the problem i had with the other tv while playing the 360 was the colors looked super shitty and when u were on the main COD4 screen and navigated down to xbox live option, the letters would get fuzzy to the point u could hardly see them.

yeah the vizio looks fine in your room but if you put it next to another tv of quality you would see that its not that great of a tv. not to mention is looks pretty gay. i got a 32" sharp aquos from costco last summer for $650 and the tv is legit. picture looks great, no audio or video problems. i compared it to our new 52" inch sony xbr4 and while there isnt as many colors shown (ie levels of black) but other then the blacks its pretty similar. no dead pixels, great speakers, looks good. its only 1080i but xbox 360 isnt even 1080p so its fine for me.

Shit for tha price i spent i'm happy with what i got.. For tha price of a name brand i'd be gettin a 26" isntead of a 32", and my pictures better then tha Sharp being displayed, and they was sittin side by side playin HD.. I did my research and i know i came out on-top.. I wouldnt buy a namebrand unless i had a hella good joog on 'em.. I'm happy wit what i got and i'm happy wit' tha rack i saved.
