If the router's not in sync with the cable modem you'll still get an IP (because the router's hooked up) but you'll get a DNS error and no internet connection... have you tried plugging the PS3 directly into your modem instead of the router?

sorry if you already answered that, havent read all 4 pages... just trying to think of anything that might possibly help

I feel for you homey...frustrating as fuck ...right.

What you have to do if you are not technologically inclined is simply call tech support ..the number on your router box.
They will walk through it.
