i burned a cd and the music skips whut can i do???

i think it's your burner...my burner started to do the same thing...burn half way and then spit out the cd...i went through a 50 pack of cdr's thinking it was the brand of cdr or maybe even the speed at which i was burning, but it kept spitting out the discs half way...i finally bought a new burner and never had the problem since...
