Canelo overweight. the fight was contracted for 150 pounds...

Ricky Hatton advised his brother to cancel the fight if Canelo comes in overweight. He's got two hours to lose 1.8 pounds.

Or Matt Hatton could proceed with the fight and he gets 30% of Canelo's purse.

Canelo 151.8lbs and Hatton at 149.6lbs.

I don't think he did it on purpose. Two of his last three fights he's came in a half pound over 150.

Canelo's been kinda weird most of his fights are round around 149-150, which doesn't make much sense.

He needs to just go full blown 154 pounds. I never thought he could make 147 anymore anyways.

Ya I didn't follow his last weigh ins.
I guess he just hovers around that weight. Tough call. Put on 3 or 4 pounds worth of mass, or cut out 3 or 4 pounds of fat. At the pace he is fighting and publicizing he doesn't have much time to go either way.

Who knows how long he can keep doing catch weights for...

well, ironically this 150 pound catchweight fight is for the WBC 154 pound belt. Which was vacated by pacquiao (also a 150 pound catchweight) haha.

So assuming he wins, he'll have to defend this belt so you'd think he'll be a true 154 pounder after.

It's actually a shame the WBC decided to make this for a title, because it was a decent fight for Canelo. This is the type of fights that's expected as he grows. But not for a title fight, so the crooks at the WBC kinda tainted this fight. It also hurts history, because the youngest 154 pound champ was Fernando Vargas and Canelo would beat that without beating a top 10 guy. Again it's not Canelo's fault, just the gay ass WBC trying to capitalize off his popularity and his nationality.

And the new WBC catch weight champion. LOL. Canelo is what in has early 20's, dude will end up 160lb or 168lb if he keeps growing at this rate. He can be fighting Chavez by the end of the year he's 9 pounds away now.

damn there was just a 2 pt. deduction for intentionally hitting behind the head on Friday Night Fights, isn't that a bit excessive?
