Rumor that Lara is aiming to move up after his next fight to fight Golovkin.

When Lara was calling him they (GGG and camp) said they were looking for people who could fight on HBO and also said for him/his people (Lara) to contact them but he/them never did. But remember, this is the same Lara who was Floyds mandatory and who some people (you for example) said Floyd didn't have to fight because he had no fan base, etc.

Everyone and their momma would fight Floyd. You've had other athletes, politicians, actors, etc asking for a Mayweather fight but czar is oblivious to it all.

Because talking is one thing, getting Al Haymon to put one of his PBC fighters on HBO is another.

I think Haymon would put Lara in with Golovkin. He's highly paid and doesn't draw well, a win over Golovkin can change all that and a loss doesn't really hurt Lara much at all since he can always just say he was too small for the weight and return to 154 as a champion.

Sort of like putting Edwin Rodriguez in against Ward. The reward of Rodriguez possibly winning far exceeded any risk.

Yeah maybe. I wouldn't want to see it myself. I like Lara and wouldn't want to see him get hurt like that plus I think people will only hate on the victory for GGG saying he was too small.

I wouldn't want to see it over him fighting the winner of Cotto/Canelo or the winner of Lee/Saunders but if he's unable to get any of those fights I wouldn't mind it. Lara may not be the most exciting but he's definitely a top fighter and I'll never argue against 2 top fighters getting in the ring against each other.

Besides unification fights there's just not much all that exciting at MW to discount Lara. While I don't think Haymon would mind putting Lara in there, I don't see him as willing to put the winner of Jacobs/Quillin in there and the WBA sure isn't going to force the issue.

It's not about entertainment to me I think Lara has been in some entertaining fights, I just happen to believe that Golovkin is the worst possible style/opponent for him and it would end very badly for Lara. I think Lara should stay at 154, I think it's his perfect weight class. But if he absolutely is serious about Golovkin I'd want to see him take a fight or two at middleweight against some top 10-15 guy rather than go directly into a Golovkin fight. I think if he can get accustomed to the weight class, it would benefit him greatly for a potential Golovkin clash.

Gonna side with Broner here. TMT fighters are trash and literally Floyd groupies, they get treated like shit by Floyd and they just smile and take it like bitches because they want some Floyd money lol I'm not joking. Broner on the other hand, as gay as he is, does his own thing.
