i don't like rockys music but him not sounding like stereotypical new york rap is cause he's from a generation that finally got more access to listen to stuff that's outside of the local scene or hasn't gone mainstream. the internet age has let me hear some good shit i wasn't able to back in the 90s. only problem now is over saturation.

Lets say the amount is true (which I personally doubt, but who knows) this is 100% not true when dealing with a major "I’m going to have creative control; there’s no bullshit" even if they tell you that to get you to sign the deal. Once you are signed your a more or less a employee and if they don't think your shit isn't going to sell they WILL tell you to scratch it and start over.

Yeah, AR's can hurt him but his style could translate well and generate a huge buzz. He has enough appeal to pull in all demographics of hip hop (at least most) and still have the ability to be marketable.

Best of luck to him, he needs to read his contract carefully to make sure hes not going to be fucked for the next decade.
