I hope not

I hope we get Tyler Matzek, unfortunately the giants don't do well developing position players. So going with a high school player like Tate seems like a waste of a pick to me.
That was true about 5-6 years ago, but things have changed a lot...we have a lot homegrown talent coming up now...I do agree though with the fact that we shouldn't take Tate as toolsy outfielders are completely hit or miss (see Wendell Fairley), specially high schoolers.....

I'm hoping Matzek is there at #6, it'll depend on what the Pirates do at #4 though....

This IS a bad suggestion, but ive heard the Dbacks are looking to move Eric Byrnes. Id much rather have him over lewis, but i wonder what it would take to get them to come up offa him
FIXED!

byrnes is 33 years old, if he gets hurt he could retire. if not he could have another season maybe.

why would u want a guy batting .212

Fred Lewis has some worth, Byrnes does not. Byrnes for Misch would have been a good trade tho.

Dont get me wrong, i'd love an upgrade for both Lewis and Winn. But Byrnes is a bad look. and i like Winn but if we can get something nice for him then we need to do it

Well Posey was a college hitter so he alot more experiance then a kid coming out of high school.

Villalona is tearing it up, but it looks like he is striking out a lot in A Ball.

Brandon Crawford is another college kid we drafted last year, is hitting well to.

PREGAME NOTES: Ishikawa to miss Arizona series on bereavement leave
Travis Ishikawa will leave the team tomorrow because his grandfather, Dix Ishikawa, passed away. The club will place him on the bereavement leave and he’ll return when the club begins its homestand on Friday.

Bruce Bochy wouldn’t say who’s coming up, but he’s aware that John Bowker has been swinging a hot stick at Triple-A Fresno. Bowker hit a homer for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday, and he had a 14-game hitting streak.

Also, Joe Martinez upped his pitch count to 60 in a bullpen session and said he feels much better about his location. He’s just throwing fastballs and changeups for now. Maybe some live BP in the coming days, but it doesn’t look like Martinez’s timetable will be pushed up. He isn’t expected to be activated this month."
