bought the album today and im impressed and unimpressed. the ppl who downloaded this album were right about the mixing/mastering. man what the fuck was rapalot doing?? mike dean supposedly mastered the album, and his mastering is top notch. the production was above avg/avg on this album, better than godzilla. lyrics were better also. what hurts this is listening to the mixing and mastering of several if not all of the songs. his voice sounds drowned from the production. another thing that hurts this album album that we heard 5songs for along time. "shine like me","playboy","doin my thang","my turf", "moe doe" were all on mixtapes for about a year or longer. some of these songs shouldve been left off like "my turf" aNd "moe doe." the "west coast don" intro is sorta a waste and could've been left off to add an actual track on to the cd. east oakland couldve been mixed mastered properly also. man at the beginning of "drug dealer" it almost sounds as if yuk's first words were real low under production as with several songs. "make it rain" sounds cut off at the end. im not trying to bash on the album cuz imma die hard yuk fan, its the mastering/mixing/quality that hurts my hear sometimes cuz i like to clearly hear everything on this album. there are high points in this album too like "star in the sky" deep track with devin on the hook and this joint sounds mastered and his voice Doesn't sound drowned. if u can forget about the mixing/mastering/sometimes drowned vocals then the album will sound better, and the production does sound great.
imma give this album a 3.5 outta 5. that is without thinking about the mix/mastering.
if this album was mixed/mastered properly i wouldve gave it a better score, had a hard time listening to some of the words and production sounds.
oh yeah to those who bought the album like me, man this package looks bootlegged/cheap as fuck!! what the fuck is up with those corny shooting stars coming outta yuk's collar on the back of the package?? if u look at the tracklisting on the back, the only featurings printed is "crooked i and danica's name(twice). they might as well not label the featurings on the back. shit if u look inside the cheap 2 page inlays which rapalot usually does, theres more shooting stars coming out of yuk. the hell? looks corny. it also says p&c 2007. its 2008 now.they forgot the credit jayo felony as a feature on "westside", notice on his last two bars on his verse, that the hook appears over it. weird. man rapalot couldve packaged and mixed/mastered this album professionally at least since they didnt give no promo.

on another note about the mastering/mixing:
if you have bangin loud stereo in the car or home system, then the quality of the mastering doesnt matter anymore. it sounds normal when blasted loud, but u can still notice the quality.

I am really surprised to hear so many people complain about the mastering (I am still waiting for my copy to arive). I mean, Rap A Lot always has the best mastering/mixing. Just listen to Trae / Z-Ro / Scarface last albums.... So what the hell happened on Yuk's album?? Was it suddenly rushed since he was leaving the label?....

they couldve packaged/mixed/mastered this professionally for gods sake they have mike dean, one of the best mixing/mastering engineers. he's the one who mastered this album, it says it in the credits. several of the beats were on point, just that the mixing/mastering kinda fucked it up. if you're still wondering about the quality, its not bad like them frisco/city hall mastering releases, its way better than those. that should tell u something.

disappointed to say the least. Album lightweight go but most of the songs sound thrown together or wit little effort. East oakland, corner store and a few others is what i expected the whole album to be like. Theres only a few artists i still buy the actual albums . Short, shady nate, 40, yuk and keak. Damn wit the way this shit goin my list keeps gettin smaller and smaller
