on pawning jewelery that was once your grandfathers, fathers, loved ones, friends or significant others...would you do it if your in the position where you have no money, need to buy sumthing and are stuck?
i have 2 pieces of solid gold jewelery one of which my father wore on his hand for 13 years, another which was around his neck for 7 years both of which have sacred cultural meaning and also hold a large place in my heart
i dont wanna say ive hit rock bottom cuz i dont plan on pawning it to buy a gun and rob a store, but i need to buy groceries, my parents need money, i need medicine
what would you do in this situation? would you ask friends for help? what if you didnt have anyone to help you? would you pawn ur shit or not?
at what point does sumthing lose its value at heart and become an ok item to get rid of for money
i dunno where to stand on this cuz i want my jewelery, it means everything to me (i dont have my dad forever, but i can keep my gold that he gave me, so i can still keep him close when hes gone) but i also need food, my cat needs food (and it wasnt her choice to be a pet, it was mine, so im responsible for keeping it alive and healthy, including her babies) i need weed since i cant eat without smokin, and i need xanax (turns out its not covered by medical, so i gotta pay outta pocket for it and one other med) so i dont flip out cuz of the mental strain due to my medical condition, theres alot of shit i need this money for, and i dunno what to do
anyone wit advice on what they've done or would do would help, i appreciate it

I think you've already answered your own question... A pawn shop isn't going to give you anything close to what the jewelry is worth to you... You might as well look for another option...
