While the bloods and crips did origannlly come from the west (even though the east coast had other gangs WAY before LA was even a city) what do you mean by NOW. I was born and raised in the Bronx until I was 14 and bloods (not as many crips) have always been around. Now im not saying that they didnt originate in the west but bloods and crip sets have been in NY since the early 1980's. In New York city it's more about your project's or crew than what set you claim but its all pretty much the same shit. I'm not trying to down you or anything but just know that bloods and crips have been around way before 2000 and on. Much love Complex.

Real shit OG. I know that every city has ghettos, some worse than others as far as poverty and crime is concerned. Every city has gangstas or "thugs" and all of them have busters also. Of course, everybody thinks that their city or hood is harder than the next. Even though I'm from Southeast San Diego and I consider myself a street wise nigga, there are certain places that I'm glad I don't live in. It's all subjective though. One thing that I do know is that when it comes to Bloods and Crips, it's hard for me to take places like NY seriously, due to the fact that they don't have the same amount of history as CA. There's decades of history and culture behind California's gangs. I know there were gangs on the east coast a long time ago, shit Chicago probably has the most history! But Bloods and Crips are uniquely apart of our history way before the movie "Colors". Peace.
