Appearance aside, if you are getting real traffic on your page people will leave comments on you page and pictures.

I love these cats that have like 30k plays a day with like 100 comments on their page and like 1 comment on each picture.

I remember I was in the studio one day and we were talking about myspace and I commented on how happy I was that my dude 3rd's page had racked up like 700 plays in a day and these 2 young cats were like "that's nothing, we got like a million total plays." I scratched my head for a second and wondered cause I know damn near every rapper doing anything in KC and had never heard of them period. I go look at their page and it has every gimmick you can have on it, they have Akon's name in their title and are getting like 20k plays a day. I just had to sit back and laugh, cause they hadn't even been in a real studio until that night, let alone put out an album. Oh yeah, and they were like 16 and talking about how Soulja Boy got signed off myspace.

Funny shit.

Check my shit out. I got people hittin me up for beats. I only got 200 friends. I personally met like 180 of them in person. But anyway, i got over 4000 plays. Its not much, but i'm not gonna do that friend adder bullshit. Good thread.

I dont think siccness is the best place to promote music because its all about favoritism here. Thats why i'm gonna join a couple of gangs, and start robbin liquor stores to get some respect for my "music".

I'm not bitter at myspace. It's more of a bitterness towards all of the fake rappers that see the word "Promotions" in my title and feel they should be getting something from me. Therefore I am spammed with tons of artists with fake plays, friends, comments, pics, etc. talking about how they are the greatest rapper in their city and how I should promote them for free because having them associated with me will make my myspace page get so much more traffic.

I wish the bullshitters would just get off of there.

If you are someone who takes music seriously, then you should approach your myspace page with the same amount of seriousness that you put into your music. For most artists myspace is the easiest way to promote yourself without having to spend any money on promotion.

Once you start buying your friends and plays you have ruined you credibility. whats the point of having 54718257 fake plays? All it does is show that you are a fraud and don't really care about your music.

I wish people would just get a clue that it is not hard to spot a fake on myspace.

I called out a 16yo on the myspace music forums a few days ago who was using some computer program to give him 35k plays a day. He had 220 friends. He claimed he was from KC and was played on all the radio stations. I asked around and no one knew anything about the guy.

What happened when I called him out? I got labeled a hater on there.

Rap music is fucked up now and is fading. Deals will be even more hard to get now bc all the fake bullshit thats going on(niggas paying magazines for positive reviews, niggas buying myspace plays, paying DJ(under the table) at radio stations for play, fake website hits,)




Remember its not downloading thats fucking up rap. Its all these insipring rappers. niggas think just bc they got fruity loops, radio shack mic and photosuite or been to the cage for a lil bit or even shot taht they are rappers now.


imo thats whats ruining it bc consumers be real confused on what to really buy tahts how classic are slept on.

You can be the best rhymer/MC all you want but if you dont have somekind of image or business mind then your worthless.
