Zidane lost it man. I swear, in a matter of minutes the guy went from being a fuckin legend(almost had that header, Buffon made a crazy save) to this. What a great player, but in a World Cup Final, this shit cannot happen. Italy deserved it, they played their heart out. Their captain Cannavaro(sp?) was the player of the game IMO. He never stops running and is the anchor of the team. France lost Vieira early and that hurt them a lot, since he is France's anchor defensively. Trezeguet got the shaft this world cup, and when he got his chance, he blew it. Props to Italy, and the countdown for South Africa begins.
Damn, so sad for Zidane, I dont know why he did that but he always been impulsive...
Italy's defense was impressive, the whole team has been dominated during the 2nd period and the E.T., look tired as fuck but they didnt conceed many occasions.
But France did a great tournament, thats a great performance to play the final when all the country was thinking about going out after the first round against Togo.

Materazzi who said something to ZZ and got headbutted, has done this kind of thing before. In the English Premier League he said something to this next dude in the middle of the game who threw a punch on him immediately.
Materazzi must be real sick with his comments. Zidane is born to Algerian (muslim) parents so I guess that was something dude might have taken a cheap shot at. It was the fiercest reaction I've ever seen on a football pitch.
I was disappointed, I stood to win a lot of money having backed France from the start, I covered the bet today on Italy so I still win some cash but its not the same - and plus France played the better, more attacking football.
I just heard that BOTH managers have confirmed that the decision to send off Zidane was actually made after the fourth official checked a video monitor, which is the first time that has ever happened in football. That's hella shady.
But I guess if the officials missed it, FIFA got to get at em and let them know, Zidane cold lost it and had to go, there was no way he could have stayed and lifted the trophy (they would probably have won with 11 men).
Damn.. it's one hell of a story, that's Zidane's last ever game, he was retiring from the game after today. Add to that he retired from France a while back then had a dream and came back to help them to the World Cup. Nearly.
This headbutt shit is going to be frontpage across 99% of the world. I ain't French or nothing but Zidane is the most talented player I have seen in my generation, period, and what happened today was incredible.

You catch it five minutes earlier when he won the ball in his half, slipped past his marker, squared it, picked it up again from the return pass in space outside the box, put it out wide right, and continued his run into the box to meet the cross and slam that header in which Buffon just tipped over.
Man France knocked my boys out but I was on my feet right then, I would have loved that to be a goal, that would have been the sickest way to end a great career, he already looked like he had injured his shoulder at the end of normal time and might not have continued, it was like Extra Time on a great career, not just a World Cup final... damn shame how it ended after that.
