no strong independent scene
not many smaller labels/distro companies based out socal
difficult to get radio play
for LA its either major or nothing and thats the home of the stars so of course its naturally its harder to make it....out here in the bay we basically built our own shit

Well that's just for L.A. artist. I notice Dago artist drop almost as much & Northern Cali artist. The indie scene is where its @ for me. The music is better & its not censored & watered down to please the masses.

that!!! and alot of them dont have the kno how as far as where to go or what to pay for pressing album covers flyers and etc. imo a lack of knowledge out side of just recording their material...
I agree with this as well, however when you want something bad enough then you will find the answers, and this goes for what Rasan said as far as motivated...Lack of motivation is probably more of a sign of laziness, because there is money to be made, and a career to build if that doesnt motivate you then what will?
Money?.....It is an investment in your career, if you do not have faith that you can make money..why should anyone else believe in you?...

Ive seen threads asking about pressing and some people press small batches....even if you only press up 100 initially,.if you cant raise that money then wait until you can or get someone who believes in you.\

Also everyone wants to be a rapper...damn if a team of entrepraneurs got together and treated themselves as an investment group.....and invested in one rapper and they all shared equally in profit and losses..the team would promote hard...have better quality etc because they all have an equal interest......too many rappers are just saying.."when i make it we all gonna eat" sounds good, but usually the trust is broken at some point or jealousy ..envy whatever.....Oh and not many are writing legal agreements...a handshake dont mean much anymore

Like I said that's mostly LA cats. That's why the LA indie scene sucks ass. I see Dago , Bay & Northern Cali cats not waiting on deals They make their own path. Even in the IE they got a wack ass indie scene. They seem 2 eait for LA to blow them up when LA don't give a fuck about the IE. 40 Glocc iz trash IMO but there are people who like him. He been around forever & all I ever here about him is a bunch of weak ass mixtapes & interviews. Kartoon pose 2 be sighned 2 Ruff Ryders but I aint seen RR album in forever & he has no real street buzz. If Crooked I or Techniec was from N.Cali or or Dago they would of dropped an album back in 1997. Sittin up around LA & these niggaz are in their 30's & still waiting on a break. Fuck that!

How much more am I gonna hear about G.Malones new mixtape or a Bishop Lamont exclusive track on dubcnn before they drop a real album. Roccett is sighned 2 Jeezy & aint been around as long as the rest so I'll give him a lil more time.

dago you riding the homie hard about this album i hope you buy at least to copys.
and the reason i feel nobody puts out music fast is no one has any structure with what there doing. 2 everyone pretty much is lazy 3. nobody has a team that they can trust to get out there with them and promote 4. no outlet for indie music, niggas is tired of fam bam my bad san diego marketplace or what ever it's called. 5. everyone is ethier waiting for a hand out or scared to get on the road and make connections in other city. cause a song like "struttin" by doubble O beez would get hella play in the bay but its just a matter of making it happen
and you cant forget that alot of people are comfortable selling 1000 copys to there friends and family most importantly you have to want more for your self then that.
