i wouldnt take the time to fall in love with an artist, theres too many of them,
i guess thats where competition begins
i dont think anyones asking you to fall in love, or take the time.
if you liked music, youd check the shit out.
i checked out young jocs album, and i hated his single, and that was the only thign i had heard from him prior to checking it out.
its just because i like music and im open to listening to everything, because i know if i do that ill find new favorites. i might not like it, i might, but ill atleast see what and why people are interested, if theres a bunch of peopel swearing by it.
you dont have to do that. i think people listen to music at different levels.
but for the most part someone whos open minded about some shit will get into something they previously couldnt feel.
theres no competition really, everyones just making music, and its up to you to check it out if youre interested..like if a dude makes a book and it goes to the library, hes not competing with every book..his book is in his own lane..and people will pick it up for what it is....they might not finish the book, they might finish it and get more books from that person. but its not competition at a underground/local level...its more like proving youre actually worth listening to.
people arent even buying cds so the competition aint really there. how i see san diego artists.....theyre either incredibly stupid to think theyre going to blow up out of fuckign nowhere, or theyre doing it because theyre naturally rappers, and enjoy spitting over beats and getting a little thanks and praise for doing so, along with enough money to buy some food, a lil clothes and some drinks.
