the ones with a real chance are the ones who wake up each morning and execute a plan, each day they are promoting their careers in some way.If you in the studio, you promoting your career, If you do a show that day, your promoting your career,If you are on the streets handing out fliers, you promoting your career, If you doing administrative things like workin on album covers , flyers bookin shows, talkin to moms and pop stores etc, you promoting your career,If you on the internet pushing your music by interacting on forums, you promoting your career,If you at a music seminar, record release party you promoting your career.
If you aint doin at least one of these thangs you aint promotin your career, If you smoke weed all day and play playstation and x box all day,you aint promoting your career, If you just talkin with the homies about what you gonna do when they sign you and your crew and how you gonna be the next cash money...not only are you dillusional,but you aint promoting your career.
In closing the ones who are gonna make a dent in the game are the ones who each and every day carry out a plan to promote their career.
So if you in dago and are wondering where your favorite artist is at and what they are up to...and they from your town...then they aint promoting there career....and this goes for the ones in my camp....its a reality...put in some work..and promote your career
look at glasses malone perfect example of someone who has been hard at work promoting his career...is it cause hes a lyrical ninja? NO , Is it cause he is bringin somethin to the table that is unheard of ..fresh and new..no....Its because he put in that work

well put man. i also think in addition to being active in promotion, there has to be a developement of a distinct "sound". a lot of daygo rap sounds like la rap to my ears. i dont mean that in a negative way im just making a observation...rap music has always been the new "sound" or the "next best thing", so in order to blow up you not only have to promote yourself as the "next best thing" or new "sound" your music must reflect it. for example screwed music...that scene is really blowing up...although screwed music isnt new, it is being marketed as a new "sound" to other regions who havent heard of it.

Not "negative" but he's not exactly one to put dago on the map if you know what i mean. he's a "star" sure, but all stars don't rep they hometown like they should. someone who does for example is Dipset. They got "star status" but they put it down for harlem all day.

now for the main topic, i think folks like CG, SMIGG, IROCC....they're doing shit. i've only had the chance to meet CG but I see the moves smigg and irocc are making and they put it down IMO in every way. I just wish there was more support so that these folks could keep pushing new product. BTW, I know there is ALOT more people putting it down for this city, not to take away from ANY of them. Also, as far as mitchy slick, he is definatley taking san diego in the right direction. In the year and a half i've been here, (mind you 6 months were spent in iraq) i've bought every mitchy release, izreals, god made dirt, CG's album, a-team, and countless other shit at fam bam. i love the independant scene here but i KNOW that it can be on a MUCH GREATER LEVEL.

whats crazy is that dago has had a nice underground scene since the early 90s as far as I know...But now you really seeing people push harder and realize that the world is bigger then dago

not sure about complex, i mean, i got his last album, but as far as mainstream or putting daygo on the map, im not sure he's what people wanna hear right now. you know, people are used to something and breaking that barrier is difficult. ***COMPLEX MAKES GOOD MUSIC!!! just not so much for the masses to appreciate. unfortunatley i think teeny boppers run record sales. i'd love to put in some work with him tho...anything is possible.

No disrespect but bay loc aint even have any product out, now complex he does, but I think sometimes people maybe either respond quick without reading the question or they put a vote for there favorite rappers...i aint tryin to single you out cause it happens frequent,Bay-loc is cool and complex has shown his potential, but in that case i couldve said bossman hogg who has major potential..but with no product out.I wouldnt include him in the equation either...and I fuck with hogg....Im just keeping it real.
Lil rob has potential to sell some units-much respect, but i dont feel that as a whole the people across the united states will accept a chicano rapper at this time-and I aint trying to demean chicano rap or chicanos period, Ive been across the u.s. and hear the racism that still occurs whether it be blatant or that undercover bullshit.In all fairness i love the dago rap scene all races included and all styles, but it really comes down to two of the hardest working rappers in dago.Mitchy slick, and Irocc, I personally think mitchy is a lil better as far as a rapper and I hope he makes it major and has all the sucess, but I give the edge to Irocc, his whole image to me has changed in these last two years..whether its intentional or not, or its just him making bigger moves that brings him more attention,anyways him networking outside of the usual messy marvs and yukmouths..doing the songs with the mike jones and rapping to beats that are hot everywhere instead of regional..and his hardwork makes him a complete package

Man i'm glad somebody liked it. I was little inexpierenced but my fam rocc let me do it and as expected some liked some hated but vote for my boy c.g tomorrow nite on 98.9 we ate them again lets go. Diego Stand Da Fuck Up!
