When Mayweather retires from boxing the fans and media will love him and finally give him his respect.
Because they'll finally understand that he brought something different to the table and generated money and spotlight for the sport. My thing is this, don't wait til the man retires to give him his props. That's like speaking on a dead guy at a funeral or giving flowers at a funeral. My pops always told me that you wish people well while they are living, you speak to them kindly while they are living and he always said he wanted his flowers while he was alive, not while he was dead. Point is, again, give this man his props for what he has done, now.
I give any boxer, cab driver or A tier fighter, props because there is no gurantee that after the fight you are right in your head or will survive. Now I may acknowledge this guys skills more, or that guys skills more, but to deny what Floyd has done in the ring, outside the ring and for the sport is wrong. Give that man his props. He's drawing in a time where economics are fucked up, where boxing is fighting other forms of entertainment like MMA and WWE (even though WWE is not "real" it's still competition as they're all fighting for disposable income from the same demographic.)
At the end of the day look at his resume. Would I like to see him fight Pac? Yes and no. Yes because I think he can beat Pac and no because it's no longer that important. You have a ton of new talent coming up, Broner, Zewski and a couple of others, so I honestly think it's ok for Floyd to never fight again and retire. I'd miss him, cause you don't see that type of talent often, you really don't, but the show will still go on.
If I was Floyd I'd maybe do one more then hang it up.
