Let me put it to you a different way. Why do you care about what I'm talking about or thinking? Have you dropped any boxing info or are you just worried about me?
I used to drop info, but dickriders like yourself keep me from posting like I used to. I still do post about boxing just not on this site anymore.

Expect floyd to challenge pacquiao AFTER the contract is signed....

Marquez set to sign contract
By NICK GIONGCO
May 18, 2011, 12:04am

LOS ANGELES — Mexican counter-puncher Juan Manuel Marquez is due anytime here to finalize the contract for his planned Nov. 12 rubber match with Filipino star Manny Pacquiao.

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum said on Monday that Marquez is arriving with his lawyer to have the contract for the Pacquiao fight signed after Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) did not match Top Rank’s offersheet.

Marquez had given GBP to match Top Rank’s mouth-watering offer until Monday afternoon and the Oscar De La Hoya-owned outfit apparently was unable to make a counter-offer that would keep Marquez from going elsewhere.

Arum had dangled an offer that would guarantee Marquez a $5-million purse plus a share in the pay-per-view and other revenue-making schemes. And in the event Marquez prevails, he will get a paycheck of $10 million plus an upside in the fourth fight with Pacquiao.

“I believe so,” said Arum when asked if GBP had indeed failed to make an offer to the 37-year-old Marquez, best remembered by fight fans as the crafty and courageous puncher who gave Pacquiao a taste of hell in two fights.

“Marquez is on his way here (to the US),” said the 79-year-old Arum, adding that the fighter will be accompanied by his Spanish-speaking American lawyer.

Marquez got up from three knockdowns in the first round to force a 12-round split draw with Pacquiao the first time they squared off in May 2004 when they were still featherweights (126 lbs). In the rematch in March 2008, Pacquiao had to walk the tightrope again en route to a 12-round split decision victory when they were campaigning as super-feathers (130 lbs).

On both occasions, Marquez said he had been robbed of the decision, a bold claim that has the backing of some jaded observers of the sport.

Should everything falls into place, the third Pacquiao-Marquez bout will be fought at a catch weight of 144 lbs, which is actually in the welterweight class.

While Pacquiao has flourished at this weight class, Marquez had an unforgettable stint as a welterweight, having been outclassed and overpowered by Floyd Mayweather in their 2009 clash.

I like the Marquez fight. It makes the most sense, since Floyd isn't available.

I've been hearing names like Ortiz, and Bradley being thrown around, but in reality, neither one of these guys is as good as Marquez, and Pac-JMM have already had 2 epic battles, so it makes sense.

I don't like the 144 catch weight, but Marquez couldn't attract flies to shit, so he has to do everything on Pac's terms.

Again, in a perfect world...Pacquiao would move down to 135 and go after a 5th linear title, as well as fighting Marquez at a weight he is proven to be effective at.

And yes, Teddy Atlas is a fucking moron. Pacquiao, who could very easily make 140, and I think even 135 (if he wanted to), should go up and fight the middleweight champion of the world?

Horse shit.

Maybe people are just getting too used to seeing Manny move up in weight and slaughter much bigger men, but in all honestly, that is a little extreme. I still think the fight would be competitive, and Manny could even win, but IMO he'd be giving up way too much size/weight for it to be fair.

I have to see how Marquez looks against David Diaz before I have a opinion on the fight. But yes Marquez can not give Manny any knockdown if he wants to win the fight.

he shouldn't fight diaz imo it's only setting himself for failure in the sense that anything but destroying him will look bad. He should fight like a Golden Johnson or some washed up bum like that.

Diaz is a tough dude, I have no doubt JMM can beat him but tune up fights when guys are looking past it and have their minds set on a huge payday historically don't always go to well....

You gotta be focused.

Marquez: I Beat Pacquiao Twice, I'll Do it Again for Mexico!

By Hesiquio Balderas

Juan Manuel Marquez is a happy man and feels like a child in a candy store. Finally, after many years of challenging the pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, Marquez has secured the opportunity to face the Filipino icon for a third time. The first fight, in 2004, ended in a controversial twelve round draw. The second fight, fought four years later, ended in a split decision victory for Pacquiao, but many people felt Marquez deserved to win. During those bouts the champion was Marquez, at featherweight and junior lightweight, but this time the champion is Pacquiao who will defend his WBO welterweight championship.

''I feel great. This is what I wanted and the contract is also what I was hoping it would be. So now we have to get back to the gym and prepare myself for a tune up fight in July. I will do it under Marquez Promotions and it will probably be in Mexico City, said Marquez. "There is always a risk when taking a tuneup fight but I feel that I need the activity to be 100% ready for the Pacquiao challenge."

About the Manny Pacquiao fight - "I will beat him, and I will do it for all of the Mexican people. It will be a tough fight, but I will win again just like I did before in 2004 and 2008. If i beat him again the reward will be bigger in the near future (Marquez has a guarantee of $10 million dollars for a fourth meeting). The Mexican fans and the Latin fans want this fight and they will support me."

The fight will take place on November 12, in Las Vegas, at a contracted weight limit of 144 pounds.

I mean he is 38 and at any given time he could lose it. I'm not saying that he is shot, but if he isn't then it should be a good fight. As long as he still has his reflexes it should be a good one. I'll see how he looks in his tune up fight, I may order this one.
