alright alright alright, it goes like this (speaking from experience)
they are going to schedule a court date for you to appear ((if you don't they will just issue a payment amount with out you even having a say in the amount)) and you will be ordered to give them your expenditures ((your bills, payments on house, car etc)) From there they look at how much you make and then the judge will make a decision on how much you should pay.
There is NO WAY out of it once they have your social security number, no matter what job you get, unless your paid under the table, they will garnish it for child support. The only way you can lessen the payment is to give them a laundry list of things you need to pay off and it will lower your payment amount. You can also still claim your child as a dependent btw.
In my case, Me and my babymomz split and i was NOT working for the first 3 months, but as soon as i got my first paycheck from the mortuary i was working at, it was garnished with a payment PLUS interest for the first 3 months i was out the house. Even tho i gave my B/M whatever skrill i could get at the time when i wasn't living their, i didnt make any notes or reciepts so they considered it a "non-payment" period, and made me pay for those 3 months i was out the house plus my regular child support payment.
