The rap/music game is a BUSINESS that generates money. I look at it as such. I don't look at it as talent, demos, albums, flows and production. I've noticed something during the past 6 months. The whites, latinos and asians are WILLING to PAY for recording time and services. A LOT of blacks want the "hook up". This is speaking from MY experience. A lot of blacks CAN'T relate to the technical aspect of music recording. Try this experiement: Find a BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN rapper or person who claims to rap. Ask that person the following questions:
When was the last time you recorded in the studio?
What type of mic did you use?
Did the engineer compress your vocals? If so were the settings?
What mixing console did you use?
Do you have publishing?
I gurantee that if you ask 10 black rappers these questions 9 of them will give you the DUMBEST look ever and give you the following replies:
