White Racism - Pertinence/Prevalence

i got an example for u. 6 white guys at a bar in the downtown of my town (Novato) yell at a black man and call him a nigger. they all get arrested for it and do some time, and their crime was listed as a hate crime....if i did the research, i could get u the site that had a listing of hate crimes from 2002 on their site from the open forum. but thats not to say other races arent charged with hate crimes.

adolfoliver -- his statements and attitude on racism perfectly sums up the only real racism left in america -- hes completely ignorant of WHY a mexican guy might be cutting grass instead of a college graduate or WHY a black guy sells drugs or why an arab owns a corner store (they have to own and operate an entire store -- do you do own a store or small business adolf?) and the fact that you perfectly cookie cut a job for each race pretty much gives us an idea of what you think of these ethnicities -- the only racism problem in america is people like adolf who dont walk in other peoples shoes --

I choose this option.
Although White racism was undeniably prevalent at the turn of the century of even several decades ago, my genuine observation is that reverse-racism has come to be more pervasive in our present day and age.
This is perhaps best exemplified through the existence of programs such as affirmative action, which provides Blacks with an inherent advantage at the expense of Whites and other minorities (namely Jews and Asians). Although not as intrinsically related, welfare benefits and unemployment also serve to comparatively benefit Blacks, this time at the expense of (White) taxpayers. It is no secret that African-Americans are disproportionately represented in the lowest Socio-Economic bracket of our society, and as such, their living expenditures have largely become society's collective fiscal obligation.

i think that people who can be apathetic to the reality of the effects that imperialism and manifest destiny have created even for people of color in the u.S. today are racist. If dyou can learn all that and not understand institutional racissm.. then you need a clue. Is it the driving force? no . Racism is a result of fear, the more we learn the less we fear the more we all get along. an article in my mom's aarp mag showed that 71% of retired americans approved of interracial marriage, even for their own kids.. so i think that white racism may be being overcome....but thats just another stat..who knows
I wonder where African Americans would be in society if it were not for racism. Racism is ignorant and deplorable at the same time African Americans have gained a sense of identiy from racism. The African Americans have formed a sense of identity about who they are and have fought for their equality to assimilate into a Anglo Saxon dominated society. Ultimately if one looks at history where would the African American grasp a sense of identity if it were not from the Civil Rights Movement or the Civil War etc?
The great leaders of our day such as Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Fredrick Douglass, Booker T. Washington etc. Who or what would they be if it were not for the white man? Take the white man out of the equation and the fight for equal rights which is the stamp of African Americans in American history, is gone. Where would Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam be without this "White Devil"?
Not to mention Malcolm X, Fredrick Douglass and Booker T. Washington were all part white. Also Tuskagee University was also help funded by white people.
