Just a rip off of Running Man with video games replacing TV and some strange Sims/Second Life thing tossed in. Short movie so there wasn’t much to it. If you already know the plot all that is left is the action on screen. I wasn’t impressed with the fast cuts and slow-mo. Not impressed by any of the action or the actors (big surprise). It kinda kept my attention, I guess, since I finished it. Wanted something midless to put on to waste time – that’s what I got. 1 out of 5

Rango

Looked good. Couldn’t finish it. Too kiddy (it is a kids movie after all).

Harry Brown

Get Carter gets old. That's basically what this is. Not impressed by it, but it wasn't terrible. Average vigilante revenge pick with an old dude. Better than Taken, but that's not saying much.

Black Death

Wickerman meets Game of Thrones. Sounds good right? Not really. Excessive violence and gore. Unremarkable acting. Visually decent. Ending was strange - not in a good or bad way though.

The Black Dahlia

Sub-par neo-noir. Poor acting. Unremarkable story with an excessive "twist" ending/reveal at the end (not a spoiler since it is a genre trait). Had potential (but not much) and didn't make anything of it.

Movie was interesting to say the least. It was good, especially considering the $700k budget, but it was pretty slow-paced, and was rather uneventful. It's about the friendship that forms between a drug addicted teacher (Gosling) and one of his students (Shareeka Epps). It was worth watching but not something you want to see more than once IMO. Gosling turned in what is probably his best performance (of the movies I've seen), and Epps was pretty good as well. Also co-stars Anthony Mackie. It's worth checking out. #shakycamera

The presentation and acting was excellent but the lack of action scenes held it back. If they compensated that aspect it could of been absolutely superb but I still enjoyed it for the most part.

I actually had a very small amount of hope that this would be a decent movie with all things considered, something like maybe a chick-flick version of The Hangover. I couldn't have been more wrong and I don't think it's even worth listing everything wrong with this film.

Take the same Seth Rogan, SuperBad, weenie-butt-poopoo joke formula and put it on a bunch of girls

Rick and Melissa are a pair of young lovers hoping to get out of the slums for good and escape the poverty and crime their families and friends have gotten involved in. All this comes to an end when Rick feels he must rejoin his old gang to avenge the killing of his brother by a rival gang. In the course of getting even, Rick is arrested, leaving Melissa without anyone to protect her. She falls in with a crack dealer and quickly becomes addicted to the drug. When she gets sold to a drug kingpin by a minor dealer to pay off a debt, only Rick can save her.
epic movie, must see, fucking totally hilarious in every way

must see if you're into making fun of b-movies and like 'hood' movies

i just saw Terri, which advertised Half Nelson & Blue Nelson. i enjoy indie films when done right, which i think Terri was, so i will definitely check out those other 2. Terri, a fat ass, sticks up for a hot girl, and story ensues. its decent & worth watching if you like indies - the highlight of the film is towards the end. another good performance by john c reilly. 6/10

"I only got one thing to say to you......Strike this mother fucker out."

EDIT: I've always hated Tom Berenger and his storyline in this movie.

Sucker Punch

Best music video/video game I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe ever. As a movie it was pretty poor though. I felt like there was little plot driving the movie and it was just a string of extended action sequences strung together by something that would have been better suited for a short; rather than feature length film. Visually it was good and the CGI was done well. But that wasn’t enough to make it enjoyable. I would have liked to have seen this in the theater just to see how the visuals were on a very big screen. 1 out of 5

Expendables
This had about as much plot as sucker punch, but did a better job of making you not care. I expected more out of the action sequences given that is what the film is supposed to be. I don’t think they made the best use of the cast they had. It is a mindless action flick. But I don’t think you could be fooled into thinking otherwise. Expect that and you can’t be let down. For what it was I’d give it 3 out of 5. But as a movie: 1 out of 5
