It falls into the same category as The Prestige for me, as I have seen this movie multiple times, but a lot of audiences haven't. I thought it was excellent. I felt involved in their conflicts a lot more than most movies I've seen in the past few years.
failing to see how The Prestige falls into the same category as to what I fucked your mom was talking about...

They live (1988)

This movie inspired Shepard Fairey to become Obey Giant. The underlying idea of aliens living amongst us, controling us, basically breeding us to work for them, could have been executed better, and most of the acting sucks, but there's some funny shit in this movie, like an over 5 minutes long fight-scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David (which Southpark recreated frame by frame in the retard episode), or the infamous line "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum" followed by an "Oh shit" and a cop getting blasted by a shotgun round. Overall a pretty stupid, yet entertaining 80s flick.

The Wolfman

Terrible special effects. Very noticable CGI. The transformation to werewolf was ok, but given the budget and technology it shoudl have been better. American werewolf in london was better in this regard. The actual werewolf looked like a cartoon/joke. Good amount of gore, but nothing was impressive. Some elements of the story were unclear. Most actors seemed like they phoned this one in. I was able to finish the movie, but would not recommend it to anyone. .5 out of 5
lol the wereworlf was all makeup man. they actually won an oscar for they're makeup. yeah it had potential and failed to reach it's potential but there effects was awesome in this movie.

all these Miramax movies ive been watching always seem to have some "abnormal" sexual topics, but beyond that just some good film-making & storytelling. i'll keep on watching.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

I fell asleep three times trying to finish this movie. I'd have never given a movie that much of a chance had I not heard so many good things about it. It has been a long time since I begged for a movie to be over as much as I did this one. It was so boring, so slow, relatively uninteresting. I thought the acting was pretty bad, the story was disjointed, the directing was subpar. Really I have nothing good to say about this movie.

13 Assassins

The best Samurai movie I have seen in a long time. Special effects left something to be desired, but that is really about the only complaint I have for this movie. Some cool ideas, good battles, excellent villain, just an over all good samurai film. Would recommend to fans of the period or genre.

Devil's Playground

Decent documentary about an interesting subject. Didn't feel all that connected to the characters the way you get in some documentaries. I don't think the film aspects (directing, editing, cinematography) had any outstanding points, but nothing poor either. Wouldn't tell anyone not to watch it, but won't go out of my way to recommend it either.

2.5 out of 5

Anvil: The story of Anvil

Better made documentary than the one above; though the subject is a bit less interesting to me. This was like the American Movie of Metal documentaries. Felt bad for these guys for getting passed over, but can't say enough about their persistence. They are either totally crazy (possible) or have the greatest desire and drive I've ever seen.

I really liked this documentary, even though it is a bit all over the place. But I guess that is due to the problems of getting Maradona on camera and interviews. Took Kusturica about three years to finish this due to Maradonas health problems. You might not like it if you are British or American, because Diego has strong views about the "American Imperialism"...

Maradona by Kusturica is a documentary on the life of Argentine footballer Diego Maradona, directed by the award-winning Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica. The documentary premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2008.

Kusturica stated the following regarding the film:

"It is the first film that will treat all the aspects of the life of Maradona.
The film will be very complex to make, because I want to show the true personality of Maradona. Football is a science of great mathematical precision!
The film ends when the former football player being in good health, and has no more addiction to drugs.
The film will show "the three Maradonas" I've discovered during the shooting: the football teacher, the politically incorrect citizen against the unilateral politics of the USA and the family man. These three Diegos will be in the end of the film I will shoot in the Aztec Stadium in Mexico, where Diego scored one of his most famous goals, during the World Cup 1986 against the English team."
