Its Kind Of A Funny Story

I enjoyed it. I like that they didnt spend much time on the illness's themselves, but the people in general. I like that kid in United States of Tara, and he was even better in this.
i thought it was cool.

i watched A History Of Violence last night. damn when Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen collab they make great movies. first this then Eastern Promises? i like how even though it was only like 1 hour 35 minutes, they didnt leave anything out.

The idea was there, but it was not very well executed. The best acting was done by the two kids - Mcconaughey was decent but there was little to no range in his acting. I correctly guessed the ending to this movie within the first 20 minutes or so which is saying a lot because there was supposed to be a "huge" twist (actually there were 2 twists, both of which I correctly guessed). Overall not that good of a movie.

5/10

Bought a couple DVDs at a moving sale. Watched The Burbs, Delirious, and Hoodlum. Burbs and Delirious are classic 80s comedies. Hoodlum is not bad, but lacks when you compare it to similar gangsta movies...

Like I said, the idea was there - I was actually drawn into the movie, but there were certain elements of the film that I could not get over.

**SPOILER**

By the time McConaughey's character got into the cop car I had told my GF "Look, he's actually the brother who obeyed his father and killed all those people", then I said "he's gonna be the sheriff" (granted, not until he actually killed the sheriff). A part of me was overwelmed with certainty, the other part was only confirmed when she giggled and said "we'll see" (she had seen it before). Now, correctly guessing certain parts of a film doesn't necessarily ruin it, but when the movie is heavily reliant on these twists to grab a hold of the viewer, it kid of sucks when you are watching it and nothing ever really happens. It wasn't that feeling of "Oh I knew it", because I literally couldn't see it unfolding any other way. This is perhaps why I couldn't enjoy the movie more than I did. The story was good, but unfortunately, a story by itself is really only great in the form of a book. I think this movie could have been [directed] a lot better.

PS: Delirious is a classic. love that movie.

Hard for me to say how good this movie is because I first watched it at a young age and thought it was dope. So that initial impression--as with most movies I watched at a young age--kind of sticks. I like this movie although I know there are many parts that are utterly rediculous and cliché. Not to mention this is one in a long string of movies that started Jackson in his stereotypical role of the guy who cusses and yells too much.

1. Top Gun. First time Id seen it and it was a pretty good. I kind of expected a little bit more, like the climax was kinda lacking at the end. Still a bad ass 80's movie. The music in it was hella dope.

2. Hoop Dreams. I've seen this a few times but it has been a long time since Ive seen it. It was as good as I remember. I actually saw this one back in theatres when I was hella young. Its streaming on Netflix and I highly reccomend checking it out especially if you like basketball and documentaries. I did some research after and Arthurs dad was recently killed as well as Williams brother. Dope ass movie.

Death Race 2-6/10
idk how this was a sequel. it was almost the exact same shit as death race 1. i really liked the 1st one and twisted metal and vigilante 8...so i liked this too.
