I liked that movie. Thought it's quit good...
Like I said, the idea was there - I was actually drawn into the movie, but there were certain elements of the film that I could not get over.
**SPOILER**
By the time McConaughey's character got into the cop car I had told my GF "Look, he's actually the brother who obeyed his father and killed all those people", then I said "he's gonna be the sheriff" (granted, not until he actually killed the sheriff). A part of me was overwelmed with certainty, the other part was only confirmed when she giggled and said "we'll see" (she had seen it before). Now, correctly guessing certain parts of a film doesn't necessarily ruin it, but when the movie is heavily reliant on these
twists to grab a hold of the viewer, it kid of sucks when you are watching it and nothing ever really happens. It wasn't that feeling of "Oh I knew it", because I literally couldn't see it unfolding any other way. This is perhaps why I couldn't enjoy the movie more than I did. The story was good, but unfortunately, a story by itself is really only great in the form of a book. I think this movie could have been [directed] a lot better.
PS: Delirious is a
classic. love that movie.
