if u want your bass to hit layer it, use like 3 basses all playing the same notes at the same time so it sounds like 1 super fat bass. do this with kicks too 3 kicks layered always gets the trunk rumbling. i dont wanna give up 2 much game but yea theres a tip

I think it flew right above your head....
In simple terms....
Todays beatmaking tools are affordable, more people have access to making beats because you can get beatmaking software from little to nothing....So 10,000 of the 10,050 beatmakers are calling themselves beatmakers when if they really had to pay about 3,000- 4,000 like back in the day they wouldnt be interested at all..thisused to seperate the ones who were serious and really want to share their artistic visions...Im not saying that made veryone with gear a producer or hot..it just weeded out more of the ones who wasnt serious....now you have people who are bored on a weekend, and download a software program...and they have fun like its a game and now they producers...

yea but this makes the "real" producers have to step there game up even more dont matter if everyone can use the equpitment real talent will always show through and the poeple playing games will eventually stop

i mean anyone can pick up a basketball but how many people actually got nba talent

allright,

i pulled out of it, then produced some of the hottest shit ever

here is what helps

*sitting down, forcing yourself to finish it, approaching it in a new and different way

*resolving a certain part

*jackin off kinda helps too

*also, not listening to music you find annoying, or whats considered "hot" in the game,
i was listening to some salsa and some punk rock... without trying to find something new, just enjoying it

*most importantly, getting in your zone, there's different methods of doing this, i turn away from the monitor and imagine a scene

id like to thank everybody who helped me out!!!!

thanks

"Lollipop", you call that well thought out music? To me, it's just the same ish over and over. Every dude on the radio be putting out the same sounding ish each day to make easy $$$. Just drop a beat, put the Arp-Trance-Gate ON with your favorite Sawtooth synth lead and rap about $, bitches and materialistic goods and your set to go. The beat doesn't even have to be that complicated, Lollipop proves that. You don't even need to use chords, sometimes not even a bassline, just pitch your 808 kick up and down instead. There you go!
I THINK THAT WUZ A HOT BEAT, CATCHY, I LIKE THE WAY THEY DID THE BASS, PERFECT LOLIPOP BEAT LOL ....BUT! I THINK 3-6 MAFIAS LOLI LOLI WUZ A WAAAAAAAY DOPER LOLI POP SONG, I LUV HOW THEY SAMPLED THAT ONE HOLOWEEN PIANO , AN THEY GOT THE CH CH CH HA HA HA

i just seen Big star producers drop countless beats for numerous artists,

kinda makes me wonder how they have the ability to make all those beats and not get tired.

you know
I BE WONDERING THAT SHYT ALL THA TIME, I ALWAYS BE THINKING HOW THESE MUFUCKAS DO IT,, THEY NEVER BURN OUT OR NUTHin???? I BE GETTIN BURNT OUT SUM TIMES JUS SITTIN THERE IN FRONT OF MY KEYBOARD ....

..you can thank fruity loops for a major part of the way sound is today.....and im not saying you cant make a hot beat on fruity loops...there is more to it then that...
I LOVE FRUITY LOOPS, BUT I FEEL U ON WUT U SAYIN! BEFORE ONLY THE TALENTED GOT FAMOUS CUZ THEY THE MOST SERIOUS ABOUT WUT THEY DO, THEY PUTTIN IN THAT MONEY FOR THAT KEYBOARD AND MPC, TO MANY PEOPLE NOW ADAYS PUTTIN OUT GARBAGE RINGTONE BEATS..WHILE THE TALENTED GET LOST IN THE CROWD.....

How about some COMPRESSION, eh?

I usually only layer with Kicks, snares and claps. If I want my bassline deeper, then maybe layer a deeper tone, like a sine wave. But compression helps. I really don't want my basslines and kicks fighting for space. Sidechaining compression can help in that regard though.

i get tired of music here and there and have even said i quit but never really strayed away from it for more than a week....sometimes its just cuz i aint feelin the people i been tryin to work with at the time.... cuz the game is so saturated with folks who dont wanna pay for shit and do shit the easiest cheapest way so i feel like realistically its pointless to try to get money out of my talent....that shit makes me almost hate music sometimes....the business aspect can really kill the passion....

but then i usually get high and find myself bored or maybe feelin a beat im hearing on some new album and next thing you know im workin on a slap and feeling it all over again.....cuz inside i have a love for music and want to create and hear it but other distractions can make a mafucca frustrated over it.....it gets like that wit my graphics business too.....

any other time i might not be feeling the music is cuz im tired of my sounds and whenever i get a hold of a new vst wit some good sounds i always come up with some shit real quicc cuz hearin new sounds inspire me.....

How much more different do people walk, from city to city? Do some cities have more limpers, more shit don't stinkers, or WTF? lol
I lived in mission valley, and I can tell you downtown diego is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fired up than downtown Vallejo. Basically what I think he's saying is to get out the house or immediate surroundings. However, I could be 100% wrong and only he knows what he is saying.

That's exactly what I'm saying. For example, the way of life in S.F. is a lot different than the way of life in San Jose, or Mountain View, ya feel? So, I hit up spots like North Beach, Russian Hill, China Town, the pier...grab a coffee or something and just watch folks walk around and interact with each other. You pick up on a lot of shit when you people watch in other cities and it's inspiring more often than not.
