Just recently I have become interested in Pagan beliefs and alternative healing and medicine...I live in a small conservative town, so finding others to converse with about this is slim.

Are there any other people here that practice Paganism, Wicca, Reiki, or any "different" ways of life?

I have my own religion called the 40 Ounce Church
basicly we praise the 40oz and God for making malt liquor!
also with a mixture of magic and mysticism
we use magic to our advantage with no set of rules
it's like drink 40oz's praise them and study and practice magic
at will...

Yeah so im part of my own 40 Ounce religion ..and....

thank you....

But seriouly though i study metaphsyics...
healing... magic....
and one of my friends is a black magician who knows much about magic
and also the dark arts... etc.....
so i learn all I can but choose what i want to use....

and i drink 40oz's so
i am part of the Church of 40oz

thank you all for your time

If you would have asked me that about 5 years ago, I would have told you I was a Christian. It was then that I stopped attending church however, but still grasped to the thought of God. It was about two weeks ago I became a Reiki practitioner, and decided that I no longer believed in the Christian faith. My master is a Witch, so I've started studying Wicca. Living in a conservative town, I know no one else to be even familiar with this...So I'm reaching out. However, my mind is open right now to many different thoughts...I'm curious to know what else people consider themselves and what is out there that we don't even realize....

When I'm hungry I eat, when I'm thirsty I drink, and when I'm tired I sleep.

Works for me.. so for you "witches" or whatever you are, do you make shit float and stuff?? I mean, what is the lengths of your "witchcraft" or whatever you call it.

Thats a general question....only way i can think of explaining it too you without me giveing u actually formulae is asking if u mean what "special powers" do they have?? Cuz its more of a life style so it would be like me asking "what do hindu's do?"

Personal gain is faltered when exposed.

No you wont see any broomstick riding, or shapeshifting. some things are to be done in private..haha j/k. (shifty eyed)

I haven't been involved with Wicca long enough to anwer those questions for you. However, my teacher told me that at one point in her life, at the height of her power, she was extremely dedicated to her craft, and she was very rewarded with inner power. She actually did have the ability to levitate things and move them across the room. However, I do not know much more than that statement that she has told me. And from what I understand, you will never find a true witch who would actually show you her powers because it would be for show if she did, and that is not the nature of a true witch.....They are not for stage magic, but for themselves alone...

No...she is titled a Reiki Master because she is a III degree reiki practitioner. I do not believe she is my master, she is my teacher. Or you could say she is my Reiki Master teacher. I only title her that because she has earned it.

So what is it that you learn from your master? What are the principles? What is the goal? I am just curious.

She teaches me the principles of Wicca, psychic development, Reiki...pretty much anything I want to know. She also feels that books are very important and refers me to the ones which will tell me the most.

Of course what she teaches me are HER principles, her beliefs, her thoughts...but they are also the princlples and beliefs of many others. I have been taught these things to form my own beliefs, opinions, and practices. She is merely my guide, teacher, and friend. With Wicca, unless you belong to a coven where people meet and share the same vews (somewhat like a "church"), a solitary practitioner can form their own beliefs, versions, traditions, rituals and so forth. There are MANY different "denominations and/or versions/varieties" of Wicca, just like with many other religions.

In Wicca, many people believe in a Goddess as the mother, and then she has a companion, who is the God. However, this is different because it is a matriarchal belief (mother), unlike Christianity, who follows a patriarchal philosophy (father). We believe the Goddes is the mother of creation, so she is first instead of the God, but together, they represent man and woman as equals.

We believe in the universe, and that the Goddess represents the moon, and the God the sun, and that the seasons are of the Goddess' and the God's life cycles and reincarnation. The phases of the moon are also the phases of the Goddess' life.

We very much so believe in Karma and Reincarnation.

We also believe in the earth, that it is living, and that we can use the earth's energy and laws for our CRAFT. Yes, that means Witchcraft, but we believe that it should only be used to help one another, and not to bend one's will or to harm anyone. As in, white magick.

Wiccans tend to be much more peaceful and non-judgemental and more enviornmental. However, we must remember that in any practice, people can be corrupted by power, such as any high priestess in any coven...

However, not every Wiccan is a witch or practices witchcraft...some just worship the Goddess and the earth...

The goal as a Wiccan? To live a fulfilling life and work of Karmic debts, to finish their reincarnation cycle, and to enjoy life and celebrate creation...that is my take on it. With many religions, enlightenment is the goal...

Any pagans here with other opinions?
