u can't say that. maybe one day ortiz will be better but ortiz has had one title fight cotto had over 20 title fights and his amateur background was better as well (lil fact: Amir Khan KO'd Ortiz in 2 rounds).

just look at cotto's resume he's fought everyone and beat everyone except Pac & Margarito.

2-0 .. I don't appreciate you downplaying my greatest online matchmaker title. I worked long and hard to give myself that name.
you're right, you deserve the title! Maybe you should fight with Fat Dan of ESPN for matching making role at HBO, which I hear he's going to get...

.. but in all seriousness I don't think I would've said the same if Berto had won the fight. I think Ortiz might be the best stylistic match up in the division if he has full intention on fighting Pacquiao in the near future. Ortiz doesn't move as well as Pac, but he's still a southpaw, can punch and he showed in the Berto that he can indeed take a punch and come back from knockdowns to put on a good performance.
when I first saw floyd there I thought he was there to scout berto in all honesty, I figured he thought berto would win and that's who his next opponent would be. you make solid points though

Really? Dan might not make a bad matchmaker. Besides his terrible scoring, you know he truly loves boxing and hopefully will try to put on some good fights.

yeah he knows what fights would be exciting and what people want to see. i forget who was the match maker at hbo kerry davis i think was the fucktard who came from a music background i believe so obviously it will be good to get a boxing guy there. thomas hauser originally broke the story that davis got fired and he beleives greenberg or whatever his name is will be canned too but I'm not sure on that. anyways i read hbo wanted dan and he talked about it on his twitter as well some weeks back

Floyd wins every round in this fight. Let's not forget Ortiz = quitter. He beats an over hyped undefeated boxer and all of the sudden everyone thinks he's a world class fighter.

The great thing about boxing is that this shit will be settled in the ring.

Mayweather is a great fighter (was). He is undefeated. But I am banking on the fact that he hasn't fought in a very long time and hoping these civil matters (wifey) has kept him distracted. I believe he will not take Ortiz serious and will lose.

I don't believe Ortiz will out box him or even that Ortiz is the better Boxer.

Does Ortiz constantly attack the body and does he throw short punches?
he's a bit of a head hunter with his shots, I don't remember him working the body much at all against Berto or Maidana or Peterson. Strong powerful shots from mid range, but can land short crisp ones occasionally (the shot that knocked down berto at the end of the 6th round was a short shot if I remember correctly).

Based on what you said (the bold) he will lose.

props to ortiz homie deserves all the money & hype he's gonna get off this fight and props to mayweather to stepping in the ring after a long layoff with a hungry young fighter that's in his prime unlike manny who continues to fight slow past their prime chorizo ass fighters.

This fight should shut up the people that always said mayweather only fights big money low risk fights... This is a huge risk for Floyd and he's making this a tune up fight for Manny
