i still think the niners or cowboys are instantly contenders simply by adding vick.
If Mike Vick were in SF, he'd be on injured reserve due to Anthony Davis "blocking" his blind side. I put "blocking" in quotations because that's allegedly what he does, but I've yet to see much of it actually being done.

Oh, and the opening bomb to Jackson and the sideline bomb to Maclin would have been called back due to holding.

if people want that deep emotional attachment thats on them. vick is vick til he steps on the field. then hes a member of a cast of characters performing on a stage for millions of people. i dont see the difference between him and mel gibson. just because mel fakes what hes doing hes still getting paid to entertain people. i dont think what theyre doing for those 2 or 3 hours entertaining people matters in the grand scheme of things.
Bolded & underlined is what im getting at. He can separate from his regular life and be someone else for 2 hours...this allows people to see him in a different light. Vick is Vick. At the store, his house, or on the field.

why is it easier to ignore one entertainer over another?
Thats like asking why do people fall in love, get jealous, or get stark raving mad when they get into an accident...its human nature. Humans are drawn to emotion. Why do you think movies always throw a love story into EVERY movie? There is a reason for that. We like to get attached to things, to understand people, to LIVE through people, and to feel emotion. Why do people spite a sports star for leaving their team? Because we form a sort of "bond" with them, and we feel betrayed when they decide to play for another team. Thats how we are wired.

once you hear something over and over you start to believe it. hating vick was a very chic thing to do especially in the media. if you only watched espn you would have to think vick sucked because thats how they painted it. i watched all the games he played in and was critical when he was bad but it gold old hearing how it was his fault we lost when our defense was injured and couldnt stop people or our kicker jay feely was blowing 3 games missing last second field goals or roddy white and michael jenkins dropping easy td passes that would have won games for us. hes still throwing bullet passes but his receivers are catching them. mark duper said dan marino threw so hard he and clayton had broken fingers at times. theres no such thing as throwing too hard thats a cop out unless its to a rb in the flat then you need some touch

like i said back then, vick isnt a coach killer, his coaches were qb killers. thats where things went wrong is when dan reeves was fired. jim mora was a vick fan not a coach. vick was too young to have some rah rah dick rider for a coach. he was allowed to do anything he wanted and was never held accountable. thats why vicks first season was so successful, you could see him learning and progressing. reeves was a father figure a 21 year old kid needed. jim mora jr. was the worst thing that ever happened to vicks career.
