Ur right about the gassing thing but to me the kicker is that Shogun beat the shit outta Machida twice. Machida is definitely a decent fighter but he doesn't have what it takes to be at the top. Sure he beat Evans for the belt but hes been hit or miss ever since. Shogun has proven he has what it takes with one of the best resumes ever. That wasn't the real Shogun that fought Jon Jones that first time.

you of all people should know it's about matchups. Machida knocked out Rashad and handled him with ease. since jones didnt does that make Machida better? matchup wise i think machida has the best shot to beat him without a lucky shot. he was fighting great in the 1st fight and winning until he got real cocky in the 2nd and strayed away from his game plan and got caught.
Fact is neither of them really deserve the shot, the only guy that does is gustufvson or whatever and he doesnt sell tickets. most the other fighters are saying publically they want nothing to do with jones either. I just feel Machida has looked better then Shogun has lately and i feel it's the better matchup. Jones will wear out shogun again and it would only be a repeat. Machida IMO has a chance.

UFC would make Jon Jones fight a black bear if they could cause they have no one left, that whole best fight publicity stunt was really dumb why not just have more catch-weight fights, Machida did look good n hes got good counters but I think Jones reach cancels that out

Yeah him gassing out don't really matter when he has heart mixed with an iron chin and KO power in both hands. That's twice now just in the UFC that he's been completely gassed late in a fight and still had power to put his opponent to sleep.
That's a deadly fighter when a gassed out version of him is better than most fighters lol
