And what exactly was Silva doing the first time they met the entire fight? Chael fell on his own while Silva kept getting dropped in their first meeting and the duration of how long Silva didn't fight back was much longer than Chael being given about 4 seconds to reverse the situation.
Regardless, I doubt Sonnen would of came back but anything is possible and in no way did he look done.

That's what I thought too. It almost looked like Sonnen was hoping Silva would knee him in the face, but Silva landed it perfectly to the body.
All that matters is the end result. Sonnen couldn't put away Silva in the first fight, and put his arm out there for the sub. Second fight, he threw a wild spinning elbow and put himself in a bad situation. I'm not gonna say Sonnen is trash, but he talked way too much shit, especially considering he barely beat Bisping.

In the first fight Sonnen dominated because Silva allowed it and wanted to win the fight by a submission..

The Anderson "fans" got all the right in the world to talk shit especially because their fighter doesnt know how too presumably because he is from the honorable country of Brazil, leaving that aside, Anderson maintained he is the most dominant champion in the history of the UFC. History will show that Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva fought for 7 rounds in the UFC, and everyone here and who witnessed it can say Anderson Silva won 2 of those rounds

Silva was defending himself well and was elbowuing and fighting from the bottom in the 1st fight. go back an rewatch the fight and loomk at sonnens face before round 5 starts. if you were to watch it from there you would think anderson dominated the entire time but he didnt. Anderson was fighting back and never curled up into a ball like chael did.
In fighting it aint about who had the better rounds it's about who wins the fight. sure the 1st fight will be looked at in the history books but not as "the guy who almost defeated anderson" but most likely will be looked at as "the best comeback in UFC history". all that matters in wins and Anderson did it twie against this guy and he didnt leave it in the hands of the judges. It shows in history that no1 cares about who came up short. it's about who was victorious and thats all that will be look at here.
Chael talks about being a fighters fighter but he's just a point fight and it shows. he doesnt go in there trying to take a guys head off or to try and finish people. he throws wild and prays for a take down and when he gets it he throws punches with no steam on them ever. he punched anderson 100 times in the 1st fight and anderson barely had a mark on him.

Chael has never had a KO in his entire career, its not his style, and infact you could make the argument that the wrestling base is the most American of all the MMA techniques/forms/base whatever that combined with his collegiate success makes him one of the best American fighters of all time behind the likes of Randy Coture etc etc
