Unfortunately, that's the way of the future for Rap (on a mainstream level especially) if someone doesn't step up quick and put an end to this kind of bullshit sound. People will do whatever to sell or get some exposure and in that case, it's using this wack ass sound. I really don't get how people like this shit. I personally use the 90's vibe as a standard to base my judgements on because I feel 90's Rap was the top for the Rap game, soundwise, lyrically, everything and if no shit comes close these days, I don't listen to it. The 90's defined Rap. 2000's is something else, more like Dance, going back to the 80's or something with corny ass sound. I'm not saying all new shit is wack, but most of it is, a lot of it is influenced by this new wack club pop sound, it's like an epidemic. Producers need to step up their game, because these beats are influencing a lot of the silly lyrics as well and opening the doors for shitty ass rappers. I mean you simply can't Rap like Tupac did on a Laffy Taffy beat, they just don't mix. Imagine Tupac doing "Keep Your Head up" on a Hyphy beat. Cmon eh. So I think sound (the actual music, piano, bass, guitar, strings, percussion,...) is just as important, it sets the vibe for the lyrics.
Thats a good assessment and i feel the same way.

I think calling thsi album Adrenaline Rush 2007 was a HUGE mistake on his part: its very misleading to say the least. Old school fans of his, like me, are disappointed that he would try and get his fans BACK by using the name....what a cheap marketing ploy.

I have lost alot of respect for Twista due to that.

Alot of niggas on BOXDEN.com sayin the same shit too......

I mean 1ST OFF, the nigga fucked up not bringing Trax on this album.....His beats woulda helped them flows on here....So this album had NO chance of bein 5/5 or at least 4/5 material.......

So far 'Pimp Like Me' 'Charged' 'I Aint That Nigga' 'Aint No Hoes' 'Creep Fast' 'Trouble' 'The Come Up' and 'Whip Game Proper' the only trax I cant fuck with.....Why he aint put 'Bussin No Discussion' on the album? He shoulda put that cut on here.....Somma the production is kinda weak on here tho......

I need to take this album in all the way one more time to see if im still feeling it tho

THis album def shocked me bc Twista has always been one of my favorite rappers of all times and for me to see him accept this shit and release it shocks me. This one of the niggas taht I thought wouldnt ever dissappoint on a retail album. Somebody need to contact him real quick before this album ships out and convince him and atlantic taht it will be a big mistake to drop this bc this will def flop due to the fact nobody likes it not even my lady. His Whirlwind mixtape had unreleased shit tahts smashin this whole album.

^^^Its true. This is still an UNDERGROUND rap site...so most mainstream by most posters isnt gonna get alotta spins. I give everything a chance becuase in my old age, ive learned to open my mind. This album may be his BEST selling album, but that is becuase of the appeal to the masses.

I aint mad at Twista for gettin his paper, cus the music industry is first and foremost a BUSINESS....to make PROFIT.

We will always have the OG Adrenaline Rush....put that muthafucka in a time capsul.

Flop? This is his most all around "pop" album yet...and they have 2 singles lined up and i believe a 3rd later. They already got ringtones for 2 songs. This album will at least go gold.

Da fuck u talking bout? The Day After was his most pop album. I don't care how many singles he has this album is garbage and will flop. People download before they buy these days. Anybody with half a brain wont buy this piece of shit.

Adrenaline Rush 97>Ressurection>Kamikaze>The Day After>Adrenaline Rush 2007>Runnin Off at da mouth.

After the first few spins

Underground Appeal: 1.5/5
Mainstream Appeal 2.0/5

It sounds like Twista definitely was shooting for the mainstream with this album, and he missed. I was suprised because in interview he said this album was for the original fans, hence the name. I would be suprised if this album went Gold without a huge push from his label.

you gotta brush up on how the machine works if you only give it a 2 on the mainstream...

ima break it down 4 yall how the labels and radio research their projects

its real simple....

if it gets a good response from WOMEN AND CHILDREN then they consider it worthy to release now adays...

did you/do you like laughy taffy, soulja boy crank dat,ay bay bay, wait (the whisper song)

these are tracks that were huge hits regardless of how we as men/underground fans/ mid to late 90's supporters HATED them songs...

we just arent the target demographic....

hes a hustler, you cant knock him for tryin to capitalize on what the younger generation (90's babies) are buyin..

support the artist, if you dont like it, congratulate him for doin his thang gettin another album done, and keep it pushin

Yeah I have no problem with those songs, and the first time I heard them I knew they were gonna be big. I am not one of those cats who hates mainstream music just because it mainstream, I like anything that sounds good. All those joints were cool to me, its just too bad they get played out so fast.

I understand how the machine works, and just because you TRY to make a mainstream album doesn't mean you are gonna succeed.

I am not mad at Twista for going this route ( I am dissapointed that he said he wasn't and and then did anyway) I am just saying that none of the songs on this album have the appeal of a laughy taffy, whisper song, ay bay bay, etc, etc. He tried to make a mainstream album, and didn't do a very good job at it.

For the record, Wrist Stay Rocky, was one of the better cuts on the album IMO.

So because you fucked my mom that makes you an expert on the industry? This album will get to 300,000-350,000 and then stall. After that Atlantic will drop Twistas sell-out ass

Thats all good but don't say your making a album for your true fans that have been down since jump street and fill it with half-ass songs. Twista already has money and he had a loyal fanbase but with evey album he gets worse. Ask Ja-Rule

I don't see the comparison, jarule got eliminated by 50, twista is makin music for the times...

Jarule always had a strong pop fan base, twista came from the underground and got respected by the mainstream...

Those two are polar opposites pimp
