IT WASN'T JUST ANT BANKS DOING PRODUCTION ON THOSE OLD TOO SHORT ALBUMS IT WAS PEE WEE ON KEYBOARDS AND SHORTY B ON THE BASS THAT'S WHY WHEN THE DANGEROUS CREW BROKE UP ANT BANKS BEATS WERE NEVER QUITE AS DOPE AS THEY WERE WHEN HE WAS WITH THE DANGEROUS CREW. AS FAR AS SHORT DUDE IS 42 AND STILL SPITS DOPER THAN ALOT OF THESE YOUNGSTAS CHECK HIS VERSE ON "PLAYA LIKE ME" ON KEAK'S NEW ALBUM. JIVE HAD SHORT'S LAST COUPLE OF ALBUMS SOUNDING REAL WATERED DOWN TO FIT IN WITH ALL THIS BULLSHIT COMMERCIAL RAP OUT AND STILL GAVE HIM NO PROMOTION. SHORT COULD'VE SIGNED ANOTHER MAJOR DEAL LIKE 40 DID BUT HE CHOSE TO GO INDEPENDANT AND HE HASN'T RELEASED ANYTHING SINCE. HE'S PROBABLY TAKING HIS TIME TO CRAFT ANOTHER CLASSIC TOO SHORT ALBUM NOW THAT HE HAS FULL CREATIVE CONTROL AGAIN.

REMEMBER TOO SHORT WAS POPPIN BEFORE THE DANGEROUS CREW ANT BANKS WASN'T ALL HE HAD DONE WAS SOME MC ANT PRODUCTION AND "FUCKIN WIT DANK" FOR POOH-MAN.
Dont Blame Jive for his albums being watered down.He decided 2 hop on the hyphy train and gotta live with wherever it stopped at.

Some of you niggaz are just idiots. Either that, or you're just some little kids that have no concept of ownership or time. Get it through your fuckin' heads... $HORT OWNS BAY AREA RAP! He is THE ARCHITECT of Bay Area Rap! How you gonna tell a nigga to move out of a house that HE BUILT???!!! The nigga has raised himself to the level of American Icon, and all you dumb muthafuckas can think is that the nigga is too old and he need to retire. You should be proud as fuck that the longest standing and probably the most consistent MC of all time is from The Bay.

Why don't you just tell GOD to retire too you dumbfucks, he been around longer than $hort. I mean HIS last great work (you know The 20th Century?), is shittin all over his newest joint (The 21st century). Can you get your heads out of your asses! I mean comparing $hort to GOD is a stretch at best, but I hope yall have enough brain cells left to get my point.

There aint a nigga IN The Bay that has the right to tell $hort to lay down his mic. As far as I'm concerned the nigga can rap until he starts fallin offa stages and breakin hips, I'll still offer him the utmost respect and NEVER talk down on him. May he rap until he is buried with his mic. As far as the rest of you clowns go... before you start tellin OGs to retire you might wanna accomplish somethin yourself first. Like actually sell some of your own records. Once you go platinum and then figure out how to accomplish that feat about ten more times... Then you can open your mouth. Until then... you're not even in the same stratosphere as $hort Dog!

P.S. You niggaz don't even support your icons and you expect everybody else to "Support The Bay"? The Fuck Outta Here... $hort represented & gave The Bay decades of good music, if anybody deserves to be supported it's $hort and if anyone in this game deserves a secure retirement it's him too...

It's pretty easy to tell when a person hasn't listened to Too Short from back in the day verses New Short. My uncle was bumping back in the 80's and even he admits that he fell off a long time ago.

His new albums have been switched up to please the newer fan base but ask any Short fan from back in the day and they'll tell you what's up.

shut yo wisconsin ass up short had much heat after gettin it that is all
What does wisconsin have to do with anything? I was just expressing my opinion, I wasn't trying to diss anyone. I've been listening to Short since "Born To Mack", and I consider every cd of his a classic up until after "Gettin' It". I understand that Ant Banks didn't produce all of those albums, it was the Dangerous Crew as a whole. That was a tight era. IDK, I just appreciate the older stuff more. The music was better. Also, they should've released Father Dom's "Mellow Madness". I bet that is a classic.

I agree that was his last album i really fucked wit like dat.I think he didnt retire cuz he didnt have the right kinda money to walk away from hiphop. He dont have hella side hustles like 50 and Jay-Z.Rap is all he got.Its a trip how no rapper has ever been able to retire in they prime tho.

It's because they're getting locked up or killed!

^^^ yeah but thats not a good thing, that simple rap is what fuck up rap. doesnt have that much to do with this subject, i laugh at the fact that i said Pizzo was ahead of his time in the way he rapped. Short is a legend period and its sad to see MTV and others recognizing that.
