I don't think he ment to do a freestyle. He missed the beat so he just went for it.

Kid Rock was put on by Too $hort and didn't just open up for him back in the early days so that was disrespectful of him to say. Plus he fumbled the end of the verse when he said "I said it again and I'll say it again", when he should of said "I said it before and I'll say it again". Kid Rock messed up on a Jay Z tribute performance before too. He forgot his Hip Hop roots fo' real!

Bun B, should of showed way more respect to Too $hort. Scarface skippin' every other word for the Crowd to say it back when you are on the Eastcoast, come on man.

Luke Skywalker (take it back old school), was sounding drunk and fumbling over his words while he was introducing $hort Dog.

His honors were terrible. The show itself was put together really well. Everyone else did their tributes nicely, you could tell they practiced and took it serious, but with Too $hort it just went silly.

Eve gotz BOOTY! Naughty by Nature had the best performance, Slick Rick was dope. Slick Rick is way fly. De La Souls tribute was amazing.

I think they should of had E-40, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube there to rep for Too $hort. For those of you that don't know go get that "Short Dogs In The House" cd and bump that Too $hort and Ice Cube track. One of the best Too $hort songs ever.

One Luv
Damn you're quite the critic aren't you

I can't believe how some of you folks are ungrateful. Short was honored and y'all are on here complaining about how wrong it was. "It should have been on the west"...Ummm, NO, because rap isn't even that big out here right now. The Mecca of Hip-Hop (New York), paid tribute to Too Short. That's a good look for the man.

"Scarface was skippin' words for the crowd to sing...you're on the East Coast". SO?? If you played a 2Pac beat in New York, the whole crowd would be able to sing the song without the lyrics in it...and without the performer saying anything. Maybe the folks were just laid back at this function?

Everybody should just be happy that they even recognized this man, instead of picking apart the entire tribute show. If this tribute never happened, people would be bitching about how nobody shows love to Bay Artists!

i was upset that nobody in the crowd was really feeling it... like a few people....they should of had snoop dogg do "freaky tales".... and have trick daddy and uncle luke come out and do "i love" kid rock was coo... i just respect kid rock just cause he knew too short back in the day... and he came and paid his respects.... but other then that the talkin part was dope.... AND EVERYBODY DID KNOW HIS FAVORITE WORD!!!....LOL

Too $hort said it himself. If you look at his track record, he's up there with the best of them. 6 Platinum Albums 2 GOLD. People like 50 Cent(who I like) may have sold 12 million with one album, but to do it over the coarse of 20 years is a career.

They been back together for lil over a year now they new album is coming in dec.

IMO Cypress Hill was the worst of the night.
I was wondering if that was even KayGee i was sorta paying attention but i didnt know they were fucking with eachother again. Im sorry I couldnt believe Kid Rock was performing a Too Short song, ive always hated the dude so maybe im biased but is that the best person they could come up with to perform. Although Bun B's and Scarfaces performances didnt seem that great at least they were showing him love cuz those are 2 og's that actually deserve to be on the same stage as Short.

I think Short could have selected a better song when he performed. I noticed that the acts that came out and performed did the shit they had that would get crowd participation. Short should have did Short But Funky, even Cusswords with different lyrics of course (the beat wouldve had the place movin)

i was thinking the same thing, he did all smooth shit, he should of done the songs lil john and bun b did, everyone else was rocking the house because they did upbeat shit...

but fuck it, classic short is better than upbeat, so forget the crowd.
