I totally agree. Almost everybody was extremely tight. Tommy, C9, Loko, Jackson, Project Pimp and so on. If i had to name my favorite ug tapes from old school memphis rap, most of them would be street smart tapes.

You'll be real suprised bc most underground artist works regular 9-5 jobs and hustle or do music on the side. remember music dont pay the bills every month. Bc one months you can bring in thousands then the next you wont make shit so its always good to have some kind of way to make a steady income unless your signed to a major recording contract.

That doesn't surprise me at all. They dropped some ug shit in the 90s and that's it. I heard that they didn't even sell so many tapes. You just can't make the big money with two or three ug tapes.

Does anybody know if Loko is on the new tracks? I know that she's on HyLyfe now, but she could still be featured on the new street smart tracks. And what about Lil Sko. His Myspace is shitty as fuck. And Lil Kuku? I remember that he, jackson and john doe made that "La Familia" album when they left street smart.

I think they were featured on King Goldie's album which came out around 96 or 97...Never heard of them after that.

To my knowledge, nothing else.

He was once affiliated with II-Tone since they come from the same area and i think he might have been featured on one of Magnolia Crime Click's tape but I can't remember..

After doing more research imo it looks like they gonna just re release all that 1995 poor sound quality tracks and live off they past reputation to make some quick dollars off internet heads.
