me too coop...

and when you BUY a cd, even they way you listen to it is much different because you paid for it. you actually take a the time and care in your listening process (hoping that u got your moneys worth). when you get a bootleg, if you dont like the first 2 tracks you might toss it, right? but sometimes you need to hear an album or song a couple times and it will grow on you. a purchased cd will more than likely get that second chance, where a bootleg may not. i know i've gotten a burnt cd before and tossed it, only to discover later that it was actually a cool album. when you put your money on something, you're gonna care more. so maybe it's not just artists that don't care anymore, it's listeners too.

SO WHO MAKES THE FIRST MOVE??

WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE IN ORDER TO GET LISTENERS TO CARE ABOUT NEW MUSIC AGAIN ASIDE FROM THE FEW ARTISTS THEY ALREADY SUPPORT?

a good question could be:

WHERE DOES YOUR LISTENING PROCESS START? WHERE DO YOU FIRST DISCOVER NEW ARTISTS MUSIC TO GET YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION? MYSPACE? MIXTAPES?

WOULD YOU ATTEND AN ARTISTS SHOW THAT YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF? OR HEARD OF BUT NEVER HEARD THE MUSIC?
yea ur right! ive wasted a ton of money thru out the yrs just buying shit listen to it and never play it again i like to collect rap music especially just cause but i find out about alot of new artist thru these music websites and to be honest it be good music most of the time i also find out about new artist when ever i get a chance to attend a show but i especially like to support the new artist cause i feel like im in their shoes support me and i will support you.

but what works for me doesnt always work for the next fan...

why pay for boo boo when i can get boo boo for free. has there been a 5 mic worthy album since eminem show? no. man vs machine wasnt a 5 mic album but to me it was pretty close to perfection according to my tastes. so i bought it after bumping the burnt one religiously. i felt i owed it to the artist. the other shit i listen to every once in a while isnt worth 20 bucks. fuck that. the industry has been raping the consumer for decades. its about time the tables have been turned.

the industry hasnt been raping the consumers. its been raping the ARTISTS for years!!! i dont know if you do music or know someone who does, but theres a lof of thought and work put into the production and marketing of an album (on the artists behalf). by the time you get it, its just a cd. but why do you think it takes niggaz a year or two to put a cd together? theres a lot more to it. now... when you buy somebody's painting, you might pay a million dollars for just one! is a rap artists heart and soul and a producers heart and soul not worth 20 bucks for the picture they paint?? by downloading the cd, you're just making it even harder on an artist thats already gettin FUCKED by the industry or a new artist thats trying to get his career off the ground. why do you think everybody is trying to go independent?? so they can charge less and make way more. so I say, the industry AND NOW the consumers have been raping ARTISTS for years. its about time the tables are turned.

20 bucks is alot of money for a couple of good songs. Most of these albums nowadays, local, underground, or mainstream are not even worth the money. Support is great. But artists should support listeners with great music as well. Why am i gonna pay for something i dont use? Listen to any Outkast album and tell me how many good songs are in there. Then listen to alot of tha bullshit thats been gettin pushed out lately. Underground or mainstream. Trash is trash. It all goes to the same place.

very true. i guess all i can ask is that if you somehow get ahold of an artists music for free and you end up really liking or LOVING (very rarely do we love some shit) the project, be a pal and go spend the chips to get it.

are cds really still 20 bucks??? damn...

the problem in Europe is, that you cant get all these WestCoast Cds and if you find one, then you have to pay atleast 30 bucks (most of the time 40 bucks).
I found the Yukmouth Cd Godzilla in a store for 40 bucks. Thats 1 big reason why people download.

Nowadays, I only buy classic to solid cds so I can continue to add to my collection......

I fully stopped downloading music off of sites due to a series of spyware outbreaks which it made my computer crash!!

Thats another reason why some people say "Fuck Downloading!!!"
"I'm back to buyin cds, oh fuckin well"......

I know about that and it's crazy. Out of the US, almost all countries sell our cds for way too much. Imagine how much money niggaz was gettin back in the days going 5 times platinum just OUTSIDE the US! crazy...

if it was good music,

1-if they didnt act like they were so rich that it wouldnt matter for me to download it

thats some of the reasons i dont download some artists, cause they are up and coming

2- if they didnt contain 3 hot songs and 15 tracks of bullshit

seriously, there are so many good upcoming musicians out there, and yall cant manage to put on some good ones on those other 15 tracks?

4- drop your shit, i dont like that i hear... album coming december... then december hits, and there is nothing there

9 out of 10 artists probably do this, it is so annoying, and i can personally say, it pisses me off, and it makes me loose hope of listening any new material from the artist

5- shitty sound, why cant some artists pay for some quality recording? shit sounds horrible, its embarrasing to bump in your speakers

6- played out concepts

a rapper being better than me and comparing himself to everything i do,

a rapper being a straight up killa that he kills blah blah like blah blah blah,

shake that (any stupid new word they made up),

i must say that i throw out +95% percent of the music, all because new artists

all rap the same bullshit, trust me, it gets exhausting

oh yeah, may i add that westcoast beefs need to stop, your all drowning the westcoast..

i wanna hear some of my favorite artists being bumped on Bet, and all you guys are worried about is being better than the next guy... then you sabotage the other rapper's chances, then you bolth look funny, and nobody ends up making it big on BET

oh please, somebody do something about those shitty DJ's in LA, those give me a headache, why are thse DJ's so horrible? and why do they "accidentally" play their own music?

like when that Dj pretended he got locked out of his studio while accidentally leaving his song playing

..well, thanks for giving me the chance to complain, all this was written with the most honesty
That's real spit. But downloadong is only going to get worse unless they enforce some type of punishment. That will never happen on a large scale, so for now i'll download lil' wayne or other popular rappers, while ill buy the underground/street shit that slaps
