I think we all made the same analysis about WCW when Nitro first aired. the BOOM, the NWO formed. All they really need is one legit WWE wrestler to move to TNA with an awesome storyline and they could bring some competition for Vinnie Mac.
However with that said, TNA was trying WAY too hard last night. And the cheap shots at WWE was gay to me.
Raw last night was pretty weak. It was like an average show. Bret didnt really talk much, hella weak ass timbaland talked more during the show than Bret. But i was good to see the Hitman after all of these years!
I think Vince has some tricks up his sleeve, and he aint gonna reveal them until he gets some real competition.

All them old niggaz in the building that night made TNA look like a retirement home

DX vs Jericho and Big Show was a pretty good match just because Jericho put on a awsome show, kicked the shit out of that midget, and dissed hogan.

Kofi went hard against Orton.

Angle and AJ had a great match.

It was great seeing Bret and Shawn squash things like that but other than that Raw was average...
Bret didn't have enough segments, Orton/Kofi seemed to drag and the Tag match seemed predictable at points even though it was a good back & forth match.

TNA was good just for the suprises and some wrestlers I didn't think I'd see back in TNA. Angle/Aj Styles match was epic and The Black Pope's interview was funny as hell.

I think if RAW had constant Monday competition again it would step its game up and TNA would actually be a big league competitor.
In the coming weeks though i'll expect more entertaining segments with Bret, Orton should get into the title picture again (or break up Legacy), TNA should utilize the assets it has (or gained) and wrestling may be GOOD for a couple months...

TNA looked like a bad episode of Nitro just like I remember it. I can't watch the shit no matter how good the talent is. TNA is about as dull as a black & white TV compared to the HD WWE.
are you serious? must be your carrier or TV? the TNA HD feed is way clearer than WWE's....and i have a Sony Bravia with DirecTV

Here is my take on Monday:

WWE: Of course it was great to see Bret back on Raw, solid segments...just shows you how great that generation was, Bret's promo came off sincere and unscripted, not like todays guys. Nothing else on the show really interested me but I did like that Evan Bourne challenged Sheamus, something new right there.

TNA: A mix of WCW reunion, and great wrestling. TO me there were 3 solid wrestling matches, Hamada/Kong vs. Sarita/Taylor, Desmond vs Pope, and Angle vs Styles. The rest were kinda rushed, especially the X Division steel asylum, wtf??? And Tara lost the title, makes no sense. Nice ass though. I understand theres not gonna be alot of wrestling cause this is the first Hogan run show and they need to establish new storylines, so its gonna be mostly promo segments.

It was nostalgic to see all the faces like Hall and X-Pac, big surprises seeing Jeff Hardy and Flair there.

Nasty Boyz, Val Venis, Orlando Jordan = Not needed at ALL. There are already alot of guys on the TNA roster that dont get their TV time every week, those are filler guys that NO ONE is gonna tune in to see. Though i do wanna see Nasty Boys vs Dudleys at least once, dunno if the fat one can even go anymore.

The way I see it....all those familiar faces were brought in to reel in the old audience of wrestling. Think about it, alot of people stopped watching once WCW went under, and WWE's rating is way lower than it used to be. Hopefully theyre just using these old faces to interest old fans to come back and look at the TNA product, then they can focus on the homegrown talent.

Coming off Impact I'm worried they might bury Desmond Wolf, he needs to WIN his next match or its gonna look like trouble. And he needs to be the next guy to challenge AJ for the title after Angle.

Im also glad they are pushing Pope, that guy has the most charisma in all of TNA. I think he could be a big star like The Rock.

So its all pretty much wait and see....this was only the first episode where they are re-doing all the angles and things, now we gotta see what road they take with things and whos actually sticking around that showed up on Impact.

TNA definitely got me excited an curious to see what they do next. In WWE, Bret Hart is the only thing interesting right now.

ALSO TNA TRIED TO BEAT VINCE BY OVER DOING EVERYTHING ON THE SHOW.. MIXING WRESTLING WITH THE AMERICAN GLADIATORS BY HAVING A FUTURISTIC LOOK AND HAVING GIMMICK CAGES FOR WRESTLERS TO CLIMB AND CRAWL AND DUCK ECT.. OVER DOING IT.. BASICALY MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES THEY DID WITH NITRO ALL OVER AGAIN THEY STILL HAVE NOT LEARNED FROM YEARS AGO..
noticed how tna even stayed on over time to compete. lmao

vince kicking bret in teh dick was tehy weakest shit to end a show. lol he couldve atleast slapped him instead

EARLY WORD ON TNA IMPACT RATING
By Mike Johnson on 2010-01-05 18:13:32

While we have not gotten the number confirmed via our usual ratings source, the word making the way around the TNA taping in Orlando right now is that last night's three hour Impact special scored a 1.5 rating. The company is absolutely ecstatic as SpikeTV executives were hoping the special would at least bring over the regular Impact audience. Obviously, they did way more than that.
We will have more on the ratings as we receive them.

they probaly gonna have him eliminate orton over the top.

Funniest rumble elimination moment was the one year when Maven eliminated the undertaker when he was the biker. lol taker whooped his ass all over the arena and put his head thru that opopcorn machine. lol

man i hated when he eliminated taker on that one, i was hella happy he beat the shit outta him haha, taker's expression when he got eliminated was funny as fuck like "who in the fuck?"
