Kenneth Branagh is directing this, so the trailer is bare minimum in giving anything away.

i am ignorant to who this kenneth Branagh is.. so are you saying that the final movie will be even gayer than the trailer, or that the trailer i just watched will not do the film justice?

The trailer won't do the movie justice, I think.

Branagh is one of the finest actors in Hollywood, and had directed some really cinematic films and is a stickler for detail and character development.

He has directed Shakespeare adaptations, and I think his vision and passion for Shakespeare will give the film it's period piece feel when they're in Asgard.

Probably the greatest film he directed is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

I'm a little concerned because he's never directed an action film, but I think the elegance he focuses on in his films will sell Thor to people who like Medieval war stories and period pieces.

I seriously doubt this movie sucks. Branagh's vision of Shakespeare was never the norm, so it's not surprising that he got Idris Elba to play a god. Branagh's choice wasn't for political correctness.

This movie was great just based on the fantastical elements. It's kind of cool to see such a large tentpole film based in the sci-fi genre. That doesn't happen often in the the world of sequels.

I liked the movie it had some good action and the story set-up the other movies great. The Asgard scenes were very nice.

Never read a Thor comic, but it felt pretty Disney. Not an insult, not a compliment. Take it for what it is.

the acting was pretty lame (especially natalie portman which was really surprising)
and the storyline was predictable.

i liked the cgi and the science fiction parts of it though.
